Consistency Triumphs Across Three Days at Vietnam Championship 2024 in HanoiEnglish

The competition hall at Hanoi Adelaide School buzzed with relentless energy as timers flashed and plastic turned at blistering speeds. Across three full days from July 19 to July 21, competitors gathered in Hanoi, Vietnam for a massive display of modern speedcubing. Stacks of puzzles lined the warm-up tables while judges stood attentive at every station, managing thirty-five separate rounds of action. With seventeen official disciplines on the schedule and 229 competitors taking the stage, the setting demanded absolute composure over multiple attempts, rewarding steady execution rather than isolated flashes of fortune.

Nowhere was this principle clearer than in the classic Rubik's Cube final. Over four demanding rounds featuring 215 competitors, the 3x3 results rewarded those who could string together sub-seven times under pressure. Ivan Li Ka Leong captured the championship with a winning average of 6.73 seconds, reinforced by a best single of 5.89 seconds. Đoàn Anh Dũng secured the runner-up position with a 6.90 average, while Phạm Đức Phước joined them on the podium at 7.07 seconds. In a premier event where a single mistake can ruin a solve, sustained technical precision dictated the ultimate standings.

Ivan Li Ka Leong added another major triumph in the 5x5x5 Cube, where consistency again carried the day. Facing seventy-three competitors across two rounds, Li Ka Leong posted a 41.56 winning average and a 38.47 single to narrowly edge Đỗ Quang Hưng, who finished close behind at 41.77. Lim Hung rounded out the podium at 45.63. The big cube battles throughout the weekend highlighted the value of seamless transitions and dependable turning habits, proving that podiums in larger formats are built on rhythm across all five attempts.
