WCA Worlds 2027 qualification FAQ
Where and when is the MoYu WCA World Championship 2027 in Sweden?
The MoYu WCA World Championship 2027 takes place on 22–25 July 2027 at IFU Arena in Uppsala, Sweden.
It is the official Rubik's Cube World Championship run by the World Cube Association (WCA), where the fastest speedcubers from around the world compete for world titles across every official WCA event, plus FTO.
Who is the primary sponsor of the WCA World Championship 2027?
MoYu is the primary sponsor, which is why the event's full name is the MoYu WCA World Championship 2027. You'll often see it shortened to "MoYu Worlds 2027" or simply "Worlds 2027".
What are the WCA Worlds 2027 qualification times for every event?
Every event has its own qualification time (cutoff) for each of the three registration phases. The table above lists all of them: 3x3, 2x2, 4x4, 5x5, 6x6, 7x7, 3x3 Blindfolded, Fewest Moves, One-Handed, Clock, Megaminx, Pyraminx, Skewb, Square-1, 4x4 Blindfolded, 5x5 Blindfolded, Multi-Blind and FTO.
Phase 1 cutoffs are the hardest, Phase 2 cutoffs are a bit easier, and Phase 3 cutoffs are the most generous. Some Phase 3 rules are ranking-based instead of time-based (for example Top 100 in Fewest Moves).
What is the 3x3 qualification time for the WCA World Championship 2027?
For 3x3x3 you need an official average strictly better than 7.00 seconds to register in Phase 1, under 9.00 seconds for Phase 2, and under 1:00.00 for Phase 3.
That means almost any cuber with an official 3x3 average under a minute can register for 3x3 in Phase 3, as long as there are spots left.
How do the three WCA Worlds 2027 registration phases work, and when does registration open?
Registration happens on the WCA website in three phases: Phase 1 runs Nov 22 – Dec 2, Phase 2 runs Dec 6 – Dec 16, and Phase 3 runs Dec 20 – Mar 31.
To register in a phase, you must meet that phase's qualification time in at least one event. Faster cubers qualify for earlier phases, so they get to sign up first. If you only meet Phase 3 cutoffs, you register in Phase 3.
Do WCA Worlds 2027 qualification times use my single or my average?
Averages count unless the table explicitly says single. 3x3 Blindfolded, 4x4 Blindfolded, 5x5 Blindfolded and Multi-Blind use your best single; everything else, including Fewest Moves, uses your official average.
What does "strictly better than the cutoff" mean for Worlds 2027 qualification?
Your result has to beat the qualification time, not just equal it. A 3x3 average of exactly 9.00 does not qualify for Phase 2 — you need 8.99 or faster.
Our checker uses the same rule, so the gap it shows is how much faster you need to be to land one hundredth of a second under the cutoff.
What is the WCA Worlds 2027 qualification deadline?
The final day to set results that count towards Worlds 2027 qualification is 2027-05-23 (May 23, 2027). Results from WCA competitions held after that date don't count.
How do the Top 50, Top 70 and Top 100 qualification rules work for Worlds 2027 (FMC, 4BLD, 5BLD, Multi-Blind)?
In Phase 3, a few events use world rankings instead of a time. Fewest Moves requires a world ranking in the Top 100 by average, 4x4 Blindfolded and 5x5 Blindfolded require Top 70 by single, and Multi-Blind requires Top 50 by single.
Our checker reads each cuber's world rank from our copy of the WCA rankings and shows how many places they still need to climb.
How do I qualify for 3x3 Multi-Blind at the WCA World Championship 2027?
Multi-Blind is scored in points (cubes solved minus cubes missed). You need a single worth more than 31 points for Phase 1 and more than 27 points for Phase 2. In Phase 3, a world ranking in the Top 50 by single qualifies.
Why is FTO an event at the WCA World Championship 2027, and how does FTO qualification work?
FTO (Face Turning Octahedron) is not an official WCA event, but it is held at Worlds 2027. It can only be entered in Phase 3, and you need to be in the Top 400 by average.
Because the WCA doesn't rank FTO, our checker uses the FTO average rankings from Cubing Contests. New results only show up after Cubing Contests approves them.
Am I registered automatically for the Worlds 2027 events I qualify in?
No. Events are not added automatically. When you register on the WCA website you choose your events yourself, so double-check that every event you qualify for is selected.
How do I check if I qualify for the WCA World Championship 2027?
Type your name or WCA ID into the search box at the top of this page. The checker colours every event and phase you meet in green, tells you the earliest phase you can register in, and shows how much faster you need to be for the events you're close to.
You can share the link with friends — it remembers whose results you're looking at — and open any event's progress chart with the Worlds 2027 cutoff lines drawn on it.
How up to date is this Worlds 2027 qualification checker?
WCA results are refreshed from the official WCA data, which can lag a day or two behind competitions. FTO results are pulled live from Cubing Contests. Always confirm on the official WCA World Championship 2027 qualification page before registering.
