Thirty-eight competitors converged in Zhengzhou, Henan, China on August 24, 2025, bringing high-stakes energy to the Super 8 Hotel at the Zhengzhou Railway Station Ticket Office. The one-day cubing competition, Zhengzhou Summer IV 2025, delivered a tightly contested five-event schedule where seasoned puzzle solvers and returning veterans tested their skills across single-round showdowns. With each event contested in a direct final round, every solve demanded complete focus from the start, setting up dramatic races for medals across specialized puzzles.

The competitive lineup offered a welcome change of pace from traditional 3x3 results, leaning entirely into side events that rewarded precision and dexterity.
