Xianju Special 2026

One hundred and twenty-three competitors arrived ready to test their precision across sixteen rounds of intense puzzle solving. In events structured around unforgiving formats like mean of 3, the margin for error shrinks to virtually nothing, where a single mistimed turn or lockup can completely unravel a podium bid. The Xianju Special 2026 brought that exact competitive pressure to Taizhou, Zhejiang, China, on March 8, 2026, delivering rapid solves and technical excellence at the Sports Bureau venue.

The premier 3x3x3 Cube contest stood out as a premier test of consistency, drawing a massive lineup of 115 competitors through three demanding elimination rounds. Speedcubing fans following the 3x3 results witnessed Muyang Liu take the top step on the podium with a winning average of 5.66 seconds, bolstered by a best single of 5.40 seconds in the final round. Muyang Liu also logged an impressive 4.59 single and 5.76 average earlier in the day.

Chasing Muyang Liu to the finish was Yunzhi Lian, who captured second place with an average of 6.16 seconds alongside a personal highlight single of 5.53 seconds and an earlier 5.88 average. Rounding out the podium was Lingkun Jiang in third place with a 6.28 average. Lingkun Jiang set blistering times throughout the Rubik's Cube rounds, including an astonishing 4.47 single and a 5.26 average that underscored the sheer pace at this WCA competition.

Beyond the classic cube, the Pyraminx event featured 70 competitors battling over three stages, where Lingkun Jiang claimed the title with a remarkable 1.62 winning average and a 1.28 best single. Owen Yepeng Sun followed closely in second place with an average of 1.80 seconds, while Kaixi Guo took third at 2.02 seconds. In Skewb, Kaixi Guo converted that momentum into a championship, winning with a clean 2.00 average ahead of Mingze Lin at 2.71 seconds and Coral Yuxin Cai at 3.06 seconds.

Mechanical puzzles demanding alternate turning styles delivered equally dramatic conclusions. Yening Liu dominated the Clock bracket of 54 entrants, capturing first place with a 3.25 average and a 2.52 single, outlasting Yechen Yan at 4.09 seconds and Zhe Wang at 4.51 seconds. In Megaminx, Ziyu Wu was unchallenged, securing victory with an exceptional 24.93 average and 22.97 single, leading Yening Liu and Dongzhe Li. Zijia Liu topped the Square-1 field with a 6.51 average to best Zhiquan Li and Xuezhong Deng.

Away from the top of the podium, several competitors delivered massive individual milestones that defined the heart of the cubing competition. Jiayue Xu had an extraordinary day, shaving 61.9 percent off their Skewb personal best down to 2.88 seconds to finish fifth overall, while also dropping their Pyraminx best by 39.1 percent to 1.90 seconds and their 3x3x3 Cube time by 25.5 percent to 9.37 seconds. Yuchen Heng cut their Clock mark by 58.4 percent to 8.86 seconds, took 17th in 3x3x3 Cube with an improved 6.28 best, and lowered their Skewb mark to 5.79 seconds.

The progress continued across the venue as Zimo Chen knocked 58.1 percent off their previous Skewb mark to hit 6.00 seconds, took Pyraminx down by 39.9 percent to 5.01 seconds, and dropped their 3x3x3 Cube best by 27.2 percent to 11.09 seconds. Zhilin Li trimmed their 3x3x3 Cube best by 46.7 percent to 18.04 seconds and completed a first ever attempt at Skewb in 8.78 seconds. Meanwhile, Yuzhen Zheng took on five events, logging a first ever attempt at Square-1 of 40.97 seconds while speeding up Clock by 40.5 percent to 7.42 seconds and Pyraminx by 9.6 percent to 4.81 seconds. Siyuan Yi also tackled five events, finishing 17th in Clock while recording first attempts in Square-1 at 35.61 seconds, Pyraminx at 6.85 seconds, and Clock at 8.30 seconds.

With eighteen podium positions swept by athletes representing China, the one-day speed cubing gathering proved how deeply talent runs across every specialty. From flawless Pyraminx sprints to meticulous twelve-sided dodecahedron solutions, the Xianju Special 2026 proved that maintaining control in high-pressure formats remains the ultimate separator as competitors prepare for the rest of the 2026 calendar.
