Xerém Open 2024 Tests Field Depth Across Eleven Events in Duque de CaxiasEnglish

Inside the halls of Colégio Cristão Oliveira Araújo, the sharp click of plastic mechanisms and the steady thud of stopwatches set the rhythm for two days of intense competition. Tables were arranged under steady lighting as eighteen solvers gathered to push their limits across an extensive roster of puzzles. Across the weekend of July 27 and July 28, the venue in Duque de Caxias, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, became a battleground of precision, where every fraction of a second determined who survived the cutoffs across nineteen scheduled rounds.

The Xerém Open 2024 demanded remarkable stamina and sharp focus from every entrant in the building. With eleven distinct events crammed into the weekend schedule, navigating through multi-round brackets proved to be a grueling task. Advancing to the final round of any bracket required absolute consistency, leaving no room for handling errors or hesitation. Competitors traded solves round after round, making each qualification stage a high-stakes hurdle in this Brazilian speedcubing showcase.

In the classic 3x3x3 Rubik's Cube, seventeen competitors lined up for three demanding rounds of action. Kaique de Oliveira Neves rose through each stage of the bracket to claim victory, securing a winning average of 9.16 seconds in the final and posting the best single solve of the event at 7.63 seconds. Victor Rampinelli Villar de Medeiros followed in second place with a 9.89 average, while Sofia Pirovani Alexandre completed the podium with an 11.43 mark. The official 3x3 results underlined just how competitive the final table was after two preliminary filters.
