Monty Fox Leads the Charge Across Eight Events at Wiltshire Spring 2026English
Inside the Olympiad Leisure Centre, the steady cadence of plastic layers snapping into place filled the hall as competitors settled into their solving stations. Tables were arranged across the floor, timers rested under waiting hands, and scorecards circulated from the judging tables through the staging area. Across two intense days, 173 competitors gathered in Chippenham, Wiltshire, United Kingdom for a bustling schedule that packed 16 rounds into the opening weekend of March 7 to March 8, 2026.
The opening day established a demanding tempo across multiple formats, bringing together experienced entrants and newcomers for an expansive cubing competition. Saturday opened the field for preliminary rounds and single-round challenges, testing participants across both classic and non-traditional disciplines. Among the early tests, the single-round Megaminx contest saw Aidan Grainger secure victory with an average of 29.73 seconds, backed by a best single of 26.23. Rufus Prabhu-Desai finished as runner-up at 37.00 seconds, while Sarah Durling took third with an average of 40.33.
Blindfolded solving demanded absolute concentration later in the schedule, requiring complete memorisation before any physical turns could begin. In 3x3x3 Multi-Blind, James Ballantine earned first place by successfully resolving 16 out of 21 cubes in 55:24. Oliver Wheat claimed second place with a flawless 8 of 8 cubes solved in 33:55, while Dorian Chan took third place with an identical 8 of 8 performance completed in 47:51. The discipline capped off the heavier technical tests before the standard rotational puzzles resumed.
As the schedule progressed into Sunday, the intensity shifted toward high-speed bracket progression across multi-round formats. In Clock, Monty Fox took top honours with a winning average of 3.39 seconds and a best single of 3.05, finishing ahead of Daniel Robinson at 3.87 and Sam Shaw at 4.42. The Skewb event concluded with Ariel Benchetrit taking the title on a 1.57 average and a 1.41 single, as Rufus Prabhu-Desai followed in second at 3.15 and Harry Allen placed third at 3.83.
