Zixuan Xu produced a masterclass at the Luyuan Jinshangyi International Hotel, capturing four gold medals across a remarkable single-day campaign that was anchored by a sub-six-second triumph in the main event. In a massive field featuring 121 competitors, the Weihai Open 2025 brought elite speedcubing action to Weihai, Shandong, China on November 9, 2025. While Xu headlined the podiums, the cubing competition served as a vital stage for emerging solvers who were taking their earliest steps in official play.

The premier 3x3x3 Cube event drew 111 competitors across three rounds, testing the consistency of China's finest puzzle solvers. Xu delivered when the pressure was highest, taking the title with a winning average of 5.97 seconds and a best single of 5.41 seconds in the final. Yize Dong secured second place with a 6.11 average, while Xiangwei Chen finished third with 6.28. These impressive 3x3 results capped a high-stakes bracket that proved how deep the standard Rubik's Cube field has become in 2025.
