Vltava Cube: June 2026 Gathers Twenty-Three Speedcubers in Prague for Intimate ActionEnglish

Twenty-three competitors gathered in Prague, Czech Republic, on June 6, 2026, creating a tight-knit atmosphere where community spirit and fast-paced puzzle solving shared the spotlight. Hosted at the FYFT venue, the single-day schedule delivered 11 rounds across four specialized disciplines, turning a compact assembly into an intense day of side-event mastery. Between rounds of high-speed solving, participants shared tables, analyzed scrambles, and compared hardware adjustments in an environment where friendship and mutual encouragement defined the floor as much as the tournament standings.

The distinctive charm of this cubing competition was its focus on diverse events outside the standard three-layered puzzle. While traditional 3x3 results often dominate larger fixtures, this gathering highlighted non-standard apparatuses, welcoming enthusiasts of big cubes, triangular puzzles, and angle-shifting challenges. Speed cubing in an intimate room allowed veteran solvers and rising entrants to mingle easily between scheduled groups, sharing algorithms and troubleshooting setups without the overwhelming rush of a massive multi-day hall.

Pyraminx action spanned three distinct rounds, bringing twenty-one participants to the timer desks across the single-day slate. Matouš Keder captured the top step of the podium with a winning average of 2.02 seconds, backed by the best single time of the tournament in that event at 1.31 seconds. Matyáš Krejcárek followed closely behind to claim the second position with an average of 2.65 seconds, while Garold Hrabavets rounded out the top three by posting a 2.78 average in the final round.

The triangular hardware was not the only source of sub-three-second solving, as the Skewb brackets drew eighteen entrants through three competitive phases. Vojtěch Grohmann set the pace with an outstanding winning average of 1.99 seconds, cementing his victory with an event-best single mark of 1.33 seconds. Jakub Jakoubek secured second place with a 3.54-second average, while Tomáš Nguyen reached third on the podium with an average of 4.86 seconds, confirming Czech Republic solvers across all top positions.

Behind the top podium spots, personal milestones revealed the true depth of progress in the tournament hall. Richard Dyntera delivered one of the weekend highlights by taking on two events and lowering his 7x7x7 Cube personal best to 5:31.47, improving on his earlier mark of 7:53.83 by an impressive 30 percent. Tomáš Čech focused solely on Pyraminx and cut his previous best of 9.13 down to 6.51 seconds, a rapid 28.7 percent drop. Meanwhile, Antonín Prynych tackled four separate disciplines, recording his first ever attempt at 7x7x7 Cube with a time of 5:40.07, along with setting a Pyraminx personal best of 1.51 seconds, which was 24.5 percent faster than his prior 2.00 mark, an improved Square-1 best of 12.95 seconds that was 20.1 percent faster than his previous 16.20, and earning a 4th-place finish in Pyraminx.

That same spirit of steady self-improvement continued across the field with Daniel Panáček taking on four events and registering a new 7x7x7 Cube personal best of 5:33.29, dropping 14.7 percent from his prior standard of 6:30.85. Jan Trojáček entered three events and secured a 5th-place finish in Pyraminx, shaving his personal best in the event by 6.3 percent with a 1.80-second single compared to his former 1.92. These personal milestones underlined the communal nature of the weekend, where every shaved second earned respect from fellow solvers looking on from the practice tables.

Shifting attention to the shape-shifting challenges, Square-1 tested twenty entrants across three rounds of intricate alignment and rotation. Václav Maxa walked away with first place, delivering a steady 9.21-second winning average alongside the event fastest single time of 7.48 seconds. Garold Hrabavets earned his second podium of the weekend by finishing in the second spot with a 10.26 average, while Filip Hosnedl captured third place on the final board with a mark of 12.42 seconds.

The biggest puzzle on the schedule was the 7x7x7 Cube, which drew seventeen competitors across two rigorous rounds requiring substantial stamina and focus. Matěj Grohmann led the field through the extended solves, capturing victory with a 2:15.60 winning average and an event-low single time of 2:13.00. Arsenij Kuprin took second place by posting an average of 2:36.41, while Tomáš Nguyen picked up another podium finish in third place with a 2:56.93 average over the five-solve final.

With all twelve podium placements claimed by solvers from the host nation, Vltava Cube: June 2026 proved that an intimate roster can produce both intense competition and a warm community gathering. From the enduring legacy of the classic Rubik's Cube to specialized multi-layered cubes and unique mechanisms, the gathering emphasized the camaraderie inherent in this official WCA competition. As competitors wrapped up their gear and exchanged goodbyes at the FYFT venue, the single-day fixture left a lasting mark on the regional speedcubing community.

The event concluded with shared celebrations and mutual encouragement, capturing the collaborative atmosphere that defines Prague speedcubing fixtures. Across every bracket of Vltava Cube: June 2026, competitors pushed each other to reach new personal bests and explore new events together. As the 2026 season marches on, the shared memories, technical discussions, and milestone achievements from this gathering will continue to resonate across the local puzzle solving landscape until the next official assembly.

Vltava Cube: June 2026 přinesl v Praze špičkové časy a rychlé finálové bitvyČeština

Celý soutěžní den v metropoli Prague, Czech Republic se nesl v duchu intenzivních rozstřelů, kde o postupu do dalších fází i o medailových ziscích rozhodovaly pouhé zlomky vteřin.

Rubikova kostka a odvozené hlavolamy nabídly v této disciplíně technicky náročné řešení tvarových transformací.

Jiří Vogl absolvoval rovněž čtyři disciplíny, dosáhl osobního maxima 3:39.18 v 7x7x7 Cube a připsal si 5. místo v disciplíně Skewb. Zahraniční účastník Yauheni Zviazdou se soustředil na jedinou disciplínu a vybojoval kvalitní 5. místo v Square-1, čímž podtrhl vysokou úroveň celé startovní listiny.
