Consistency Crowned Across Nine Events at Valsugana Speedcubing 2024English

Sixty-five competitors gathered across seventeen rounds of intense head-to-head action where steady execution mattered far more than isolated bursts of speed. Staged at the Palazzetto dello sport in Borgo Valsugana, Italy, on October 19 and 20, the tournament demonstrated how structured pacing rewards competitors over entire rounds. Across every discipline in the 2024 season calendar, titles were decided by those who kept their composure through full sets of solves. The atmosphere inside the hall rewarded technical mastery over raw chance from the opening solves on Saturday morning to the decisive finals on Sunday afternoon.

The premier event delivered a masterclass in round-long control. In the classic 3x3x3 Rubik's Cube, Daniel Sartori captured top honors with a winning average of 6.61 seconds, backed by a best single of 6.10. Valerio Locatelli pushed Sartori to the wire, taking the second step on the podium with a 6.75 average, while Giacomo Daniele Corò finished third with a 7.46 mark. Sartori did not need the absolute lowest single of the weekend to secure the title; his steady pace across five solves in the final round carried him ahead of sixty-four other competitors. The 3x3 results proved that precision under pressure consistently outshines isolated single solves.

Beyond the primary puzzle, Sartori continued his balanced showing by claiming another victory in the 5x5x5 Cube. Posting a winning average of 52.81 seconds with a best single of 51.20, he held off Corò, who finished second at 53.27, and Alberto Mantovani, who earned third place with a 53.85 average. The 5x5x5 podium remained exceptionally tight throughout three hard-fought rounds, with all three podium finishers separated by barely one second on their final averages. Sartori added a third-place finish in the 6x6x6 Cube with a 1:49.55 average, completing an impressive weekend across the big cube disciplines at Valsugana Speedcubing 2024.

The larger puzzles featured commanding performances by Paolo Marino, who swept the biggest cubes on the schedule. Marino secured the 6x6x6 Cube title with a winning average of 1:48.00 and a best single of 1:35.15, edging out Mantovani's 1:48.59 and Sartori's 1:49.55. Marino doubled his gold count in the 7x7x7 Cube, recording an average of 2:31.29 to finish comfortably ahead of Mantovani at 2:43.48 and Luca Brasini at 2:46.37. Marino also earned a podium finish in the 4x4x4 Cube, taking third in 31.91 seconds, behind Sartori's 30.24 and champion Corò, who claimed the 4x4x4 Cube victory with a swift 26.46 average.

Specialized disciplines highlighted different mechanical skills across the weekend. Alessandro Calzoni dominated the side events, capturing first place in Skewb with a 2.93 winning average ahead of Rocco Rannisi at 4.35 and Leonardo Corbelli at 4.38. Calzoni also took the Megaminx title with an average of 36.31 seconds. In Pyraminx, Evan Maccagnan claimed victory with a 3.15 average, followed by Christian Crea at 3.52 and Valentina Trinca Talalin at 4.01. Maccagnan also showcased remarkable memory in the 3x3x3 Multi-Blind event, successfully solving 10 out of 10 cubes within a time of 59:27 to top Yassine Mesraoui and Marco Guarasci at Valsugana Speedcubing 2024.

Away from the top of the podium, significant individual milestones anchored the competition schedule.
