Vidal Perea Civico Dominates 3x3 and 4x4 Podiums at Vall de Nuria 2025English

A blistering 8.34 single and an unbeatable 10.34 average in the final round of the 3x3x3 Cube set the tone for a commanding showing by Vidal Perea Civico in the Pyrenees. Meeting inside the Hotel Vall de Nuria over May 3 to May 4, twenty-three competitors gathered for Vall de Nuria 2025 to contest nine official events across fifteen total rounds. Perea Civico controlled the top of the standings in the marquee Rubik's Cube category, holding off a determined field to establish the high-water mark of the entire weekend.

The 3x3 results formed only one part of a multi-event showcase for the tournament frontrunner. Perea Civico doubled down in the larger puzzles, capturing the 4x4x4 Cube crown with a 40.07 winning average and a round-best 30.54 single. His consistency across two demanding rounds separated him from runner-up Laura Tarres Gimeno, who finished at 43.49, and third-place finisher Sergi Sabat at 43.90. Perea Civico also added a podium finish in the 2x2x2 Cube with a 3.82 average, taking third place behind winner Albert Mandico Sampol and runner-up Alex Domingo Risco.

Albert Mandico Sampol enjoyed his own sensational weekend in the short-format puzzles, capturing two gold medals in Núria, Spain. Mandico Sampol secured the 2x2x2 Cube title by registering an average of 2.08 alongside a 1.53 single, finishing ahead of Domingo Risco's 3.05. He repeated that winning form in Pyraminx, taking top honors with a 3.09 average over Tarres Gimeno, who posted a 3.68 average, and Domingo Risco, who rounded out the podium at 4.30. Mandico Sampol also challenged Perea Civico in the main event, claiming second place in the 3x3x3 Cube with a 10.88 average just ahead of Pau Vela Garcia's 10.94.

Specialized events provided intense competition across every stage of the schedule. Alex Domingo Risco triumphed in the single-round Skewb contest with a 5.12 winning average and a 4.35 best single. In the big cube category, Pau Carbonell took first place in the 7x7x7 Cube with an average of 4:15.85 and a fastest single solve of 4:05.91, outlasting Artur Miralles Hernandez at 4:39.66 and Pau Vela Garcia at 5:17.46 in a grueling test of stamina. Miralles Hernandez found gold in Square-1, delivering an 11.59 winning average highlighted by a 9.14 single to lead Jordi Lleixa Lopez and Laura Tarres Gimeno.

Memory and efficiency specialists found fertile ground as Jordi Lleixa Lopez took command of both mental discipline disciplines. Other competitors unlocked significant milestones as the rounds progressed in the mountain air. David Parra Meza entered seven events and earned an eighth-place finish in the 4x4x4 Cube while slicing his 3x3x3 Cube personal best by 8.5 percent to 13.79 seconds.
