Organizers Deliver Sharp Three-Event Schedule at Ulaanbaatar Cubing Challenge Dec 2023English

A total of 78 competitors gathered at the UBH Center on December 16, 2023, as the organizing team and dedicated volunteers brought a packed three-event schedule to life. Managing three distinct tournaments across a single action-filled day in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia required seamless coordination at every judging station, scrambler desk, and timing mat. The crew kept the single-round format running on time while competitors tackled the classic Rubik's Cube, the rapid-fire 2x2x2 Cube, and the triangular Pyraminx.

The operational success behind this cubing competition gave every entrant a fair and timely platform to perform. Volunteers kept the pace moving through dozens of solves, ensuring that judges processed scorecards without delay and delegating duties efficiently. With 78 participants stepping up to the tables, the organized setup allowed both seasoned veterans and rising talents to focus entirely on their executions across all three puzzle categories.

The classic 3x3x3 Cube drew the largest field of the day with 77 competitors taking their turn at the solving stations. Myagmardorj Ulziijargal delivered the premier performance in the event, capturing first place with a winning average of 7.44 seconds and setting the day's standard with a best single of 5.37 seconds. The contest for the top spots remained tight throughout, as Temuulen Tserendagva claimed second place with a 7.90 average and Gegeenbileg Naranchimeg secured third on an 8.69 mark to finalize the 3x3 results.

In the 2x2x2 Cube, the margins at the top were razor thin across the 61-competitor bracket. Orgil Otgonbayar took the victory with a 2.66 average and a best single solve of 2.11 seconds. Temuulen Tserendagva pushed the winner right to the edge, finishing second with a 2.68 average while putting down a blistering single of 1.95 seconds. Gegeenbileg Naranchimeg once again reached the podium, securing third place with an average of 3.04 seconds.

The Pyraminx event brought 54 solvers to the competition tables, showcasing nimble fingertricks and rapid face turns. Amarsanaa Enkhbaatar emerged victorious by logging a winning average of 3.54 seconds alongside a best single of 2.75 seconds. Renchinnorov Burenzevseg followed closely behind in second place with a 3.58 average, while Khangai Erdenebileg completed the all-Mongolian podium sweep by posting a 4.27 average for third.

Away from the top steps of the podium, several solvers achieved major breakthroughs thanks to the steady structure provided by the event staff. Buyankhishig Erkhembayar completed three disciplines, cutting their Pyraminx personal best by 57.7 percent down to 7.39 seconds, lowering their 2x2x2 mark by 31.5 percent to 6.49 seconds, and dropping their 3x3x3 best by 24.9 percent to 26.23 seconds.
