A total of 136 competitors gathered in 충청북도 청주시 (Cheongju-si, Chungcheongbuk-do), Korea on November 15, 2025, setting the stage for a day of high-velocity turning across 5 official events and 10 competitive rounds. Hosted at the 오송첨단의료산업진흥재단 C&V센터 (KBIO Health C&V Center), the speedcubing action reached its most frenetic pace in the short-format showdowns. Speed and precision collided early as participants tackled the classic 2x2x2 Cube and 3x3x3 Cube, establishing a relentless tempo that resonated through every bracket in the venue.

The 2x2x2 Cube competition produced the quickest aggregate of the weekend, where 103 competitors battled across two rounds. Kyeongmin Choi (최경민) dominated the final round, taking victory with a blisteringly fast winning average of 1.46 seconds alongside a best single of 1.17 seconds. Seung Hyuk Nahm (남승혁) maintained pressure throughout the sequence, taking second place with an average of 1.77 seconds, while Jeon Si Hyeon (전시현) secured the third step on the podium with a 2.42-second mark to close out a sharp podium sweep for Korea.

The marquee 3x3x3 Cube drew the largest lineup of the day, featuring 134 entrants vying for the title. Seung Hyuk Nahm (남승혁) captured the crown with an impressive winning average of 6.55 seconds and an event-best single of 6.15 seconds. The podium battle saw Kyeongmin Choi (최경민) take second place with an average of 7.41 seconds, edging out Jeff Park of the USA, who posted a 7.49-second average to claim third. The resulting 3x3 results demonstrated remarkable consistency at the absolute highest tier of the tournament.

Beyond the standard 3x3 sprint, Nahm extended his dominant run to the 4x4x4 Cube, which drew 92 competitors across two rounds. Nahm took first place with a 23.80-second winning average and a single of 20.22 seconds, completing a standout individual campaign. DongSoo Park (박동수) earned second place with an average of 25.29 seconds, while Kyeongmin Choi (최경민) added another medal to his tally, finishing third with an average of 28.02 seconds in a fiercely contested final round.

The one-handed event tested tactical dexterity as 75 solvers took on the 3x3x3 One-Handed challenge over two rounds. Yoochan Hong (홍유찬) rose to the top of the standings, capturing the win with a smooth 9.13-second average and a best single of 7.62 seconds. Seung Hyuk Nahm (남승혁) added another silver medal with an average of 11.12 seconds, while Hyunseung Ko (고현승) recorded an 11.97-second average to take third place on the podium.

Away from the top steps of the podium, several solvers logged remarkable personal progression during the weekend. Eunhyul Og (옥은휼) delivered massive drops across multiple formats, lowering his 3x3x3 One-Handed personal best to 18.42 seconds, which was 60.2 percent faster than his prior 46.23-second mark, alongside trimming his 2x2x2 Cube personal best to 2.28 seconds for a 52.9 percent improvement and achieving a 9.99-second 3x3x3 Cube single that was 32.6 percent faster than before on his way to 16th in 2x2x2. Eunho Hwang (황은호) took on 5 events, registering a first ever attempt at 3x3x3 Blindfolded in 3:17.97, improving his 2x2x2 best by 46.4 percent to 1.93 seconds, cutting his 3x3x3 best by 40.3 percent down to 6.82 seconds, and finishing 13th in 2x2x2. Koki Narui of Japan completed a first ever attempt in 3x3x3 One-Handed with a 33.35, improved his 2x2x2 single by 47.5 percent to 2.75 seconds, and lowered his 3x3x3 single by 42.7 percent to 10.25 seconds.

Other competitors marked significant developmental milestones during the gathering. Minhan Yoon (윤민한) entered 4 events and placed 14th in 3x3x3 One-Handed, recording a first ever attempt of 14.82 seconds in that event, a first ever attempt at 4x4x4 Cube with 1:01.85, and a 19 percent improvement to 3.66 seconds in 2x2x2. Yugeon Jin (진유건) tackled 4 events, posting a first ever attempt at 4x4x4 Cube of 1:54.16, a first ever attempt at 2x2x2 Cube of 7.11 seconds, and a 3x3x3 One-Handed personal best of 1:03.92, which was 25.3 percent faster than his previous best. Kim DongHwi (김동휘) logged his first ever attempts in both 2x2x2 Cube at 13.50 seconds and 4x4x4 Cube at 2:02.09, while shaving 26 percent off his 3x3x3 personal best with a single of 38.17 seconds.

Mental discipline took center stage in the 3x3x3 Blindfolded event, where 36 competitors navigated the memory-intensive challenge across two rounds. Jeff Park secured the victory with a top single of 16.69 seconds, while finishing with a DNF average. JiHun Yim (임지훈) earned second place with a single solve of 21.36 seconds, followed by Yeon Kyun Park (박연균) in third place with a time of 27.31 seconds, adding international flair to the podium distribution.

From solving a classic Rubik's Cube under standard conditions to one-handed turns and memory trials, this speed cubing showcase delivered sharp competition across the board. Across all events at Uhseo Osong 2025, host nation solvers from Korea captured 13 podium places, with the USA earning 2. The gathering served as an exemplary cubing competition and a memorable WCA competition in Cheongju-si, setting high benchmarks for the next season of play.

136명의 선수가 참가한 이번 스피드큐빙 무대에서는 각 종목 메달을 향한 치열한 경쟁이 펼쳐졌다. 충청북도 청주시 (Cheongju-si, Chungcheongbuk-do), Korea에 위치한 오송첨단의료산업진흥재단 C&V센터에서 2025년 11월 15일 열린 Uhseo Osong 2025는 총 5개 종목, 10개 라운드로 진행되며 참가자들의 뜨거운 열기로 가득 찼다. 대한민국과 미국의 정상급 큐버들이 모여 각자의 기량을 겨루는 가운데 메인 종목인 3x3x3 루빅스 큐브를 비롯한 다양한 부문에서 접전이 이어졌다.

가장 큰 관심을 모은 3x3x3 큐브 결승에서는 한국의 Seung Hyuk Nahm (남승혁)이 평균 6.55초를 기록하며 1위에 올랐다. 134명이 출전해 2개 라운드로 치러진 이 종목에서 Seung Hyuk Nahm (남승혁)은 최고 싱글 6.15초를 찍으며 독보적인 실력을 과시했다. 그 뒤를 이어 Kyeongmin Choi (최경민)이 평균 7.41초로 2위를 차지했고, 미국의 Jeff Park이 평균 7.49초로 3위에 오르며 한미 정상급 큐버 간의 불꽃 튀는 라이벌 구도를 형성했다.

Seung Hyuk Nahm (남승혁)의 질주는 대형 큐브 무대로도 고스란히 이어졌다. 총 92명이 경쟁한 4x4x4 큐브 결승에서 Seung Hyuk Nahm (남승혁)은 평균 23.80초, 최고 싱글 20.22초로 우승을 거머쥐며 2관왕을 완성했다. 2위에는 평균 25.29초를 기록한 DongSoo Park (박동수)이 올랐으며, Kyeongmin Choi (최경민)은 평균 28.02초로 3위를 기록해 멀티 메달을 목에 걸었다.

스피드전의 백미인 2x2x2 큐브에서는 단거리 레이스다운 극적인 승부가 연출되었다. 103명이 참가한 이 종목 결승에서 Kyeongmin Choi (최경민)은 평균 1.46초, 최고 싱글 1.17초의 압도적인 성적으로 1위를 차지하며 3x3x3 결승에서의 아쉬움을 털어냈다. Seung Hyuk Nahm (남승혁)은 평균 1.77초로 2위를 기록했고, Jeon Si Hyeon (전시현)이 평균 2.42초로 3위 포디움에 안착했다.

단 한 손으로 큐브를 조작하는 3x3x3 한손 종목에서는 75명의 선수가 나선 가운데 치열한 손끝 싸움이 전개됐다. 결승전에서 Yoochan Hong (홍유찬)은 평균 9.13초, 최고 싱글 7.62초를 달성하며 1위 트로피를 들어 올렸다. Seung Hyuk Nahm (남승혁)은 평균 11.12초로 2위에 올랐고, Hyunseung Ko (고현승)은 평균 11.97초의 기록으로 3위를 확정 지었다.

기억력과 집중력이 요구되는 3x3x3 블라인드 종목에서는 미국의 Jeff Park이 돋보였다. 36명의 선수가 출전한 가운데 Jeff Park은 단일 기록 16.69초로 1위를 차지하며 미국의 자존심을 세웠다. 뒤이어 JiHun Yim (임지훈)이 21.36초로 2위, Yeon Kyun Park (박연균)이 27.31초로 3위를 기록하며 한국 선수들이 메달권의 나머지 자리를 채웠다.

이번 WCA 대회에서는 메달권 너머에서 자신의 한계를 뛰어넘은 도전자들의 값진 결실도 눈부셨다. Moon Mugyeom (문무겸)은 4개 종목에 출전해 2x2x2 큐브에서 종전보다 60.4퍼센트 단축한 3.78초의 개인 최고 기록을 세웠고, 4x4x4 큐브 1분 48.42초(11.7퍼센트 단축) 및 3x3x3 큐브 27.64초(7.2퍼센트 단축)를 기록했다. DongGeon Kim (김동건)은 4개 종목을 소화하며 2x2x2 큐브 첫 시도에서 2.08초를 기록해 10위에 올랐고, 3x3x3 한손 첫 시도 15.48초와 함께 4x4x4 큐브에서 9.1퍼센트 단축한 30.49초를 달성했다. Seoha Kim은 3개 종목에 도전해 4x4x4 큐브 첫 시도에서 3분 07.71초를 남겼으며 2x2x2 큐브에서 28.1퍼센트 향상된 9.36초, 3x3x3 큐브 34.59초를 기록했다.

도전을 멈추지 않은 다른 참가자들의 성과도 돋보였다. Sung Ha Heo (허성하)는 3개 종목을 치르며 4x4x4 큐브 첫 시도에서 1분 48.72초를 작성했고 2x2x2 큐브에서 26.5퍼센트 줄인 5.04초와 3x3x3 큐브 20.24초를 남겼다. Leo Shin (신래오)은 4개 종목에 나서 4x4x4 큐브 첫 도전 1분 55.72초를 달성하고 3x3x3 한손에서 24퍼센트 빨라진 48.14초, 3x3x3 큐브 27.18초(4.9퍼센트 단축)를 세웠다. Haram Jang (장하람)은 5개 종목을 모두 소화하며 3x3x3 한손 첫 시도 41.25초를 기록한 데 이어 2x2x2 큐브에서 22.4퍼센트 단축한 3.26초, 4x4x4 큐브 50.63초(6.9퍼센트 단축)를 달성했다.

전체 15개의 포디움 자리 중 한국이 13개, 미국이 2개를 가져가며 지역 간의 뜨거운 선의의 경쟁이 빛을 발했다. 다양한 종목에서 수많은 개인 최고 기록이 쏟아져 나온 Uhseo Osong 2025는 참가 선수 모두에게 새로운 목표를 안겨주며 성황리에 막을 내렸다.
