Cancino Bruna and Veterans Dominate Big Puzzles at Titán Big N' Mega 2025English

Twelve seasoned competitors gathered in Santiago, Chile on March 1, 2025, bringing high-level precision to an intensive one-day schedule. Across eight rounds of play, the specialized cubing competition gave Chile's veteran solvers the platform to demonstrate their technical mastery over complex hardware. Hosted at Titan 5084, Titán Big N' Mega 2025 stripped away standard Rubik's Cube formats to prioritize the demanding endurance required for big cubes and multi-sided puzzles. The focused environment provided a test of stamina, where years of tournament experience proved decisive as solvers navigated through two full rounds in each of the four featured disciplines.

Veteran standout Claudio Matias Cancino Bruna established command early in the 5x5x5 Cube, an event featuring all 12 competitors from the tournament field. Cancino Bruna delivered top form, logging the single fastest solve of the event at 43.34 seconds alongside a victorious final average of 48.13 seconds. Fellow Chilean veteran Felipe Medel secured second place with a steady average of 55.00 seconds, while Diego Núñez rounded out the podium with an average of 55.85 seconds. The high level of execution set a demanding standard for the rest of the gathering.

Cancino Bruna sustained that standard into the 6x6x6 Cube, where eleven solvers tackled the six-layered puzzle across two competitive rounds. Handling the physical demands of the larger mechanism, Cancino Bruna recorded the winning average of 1:36.64 and the best single time of 1:35.24. Medel matched him closely throughout the final to finish in the runner-up spot with an average of 1:40.10, and Núñez again stepped onto the podium with a third-place mark of 1:46.29, cementing an identical top-three order across the middle-distance puzzles.

The 7x7x7 Cube reshuffled the podium order while keeping the same core group of Chilean veterans at the forefront of the standings. Diego Núñez produced the decisive performance of the round, securing victory with a 2:36.24 average and posting the event's top single solve at 2:29.48. Cancino Bruna finished behind Núñez in second place with an average of 2:44.90, while Medel claimed the third spot on the podium with a 2:55.07 result, concluding a rigorous slate of big-cube solving at Titán Big N' Mega 2025.

Beyond the traditional cubic puzzles, the dodecahedral Megaminx produced one of the most commanding margins of the entire WCA competition. Sebastián Urbina set the pace over nine entrants across two rounds, clinching the title with an average of 31.72 seconds. Urbina also captured the fastest single solve of the event at 28.20 seconds. Medel took second place with an average of 44.12 seconds, earning his fourth podium finish of the day, while Dante Navarro Vera secured the third-place podium step with an average of 47.43 seconds.

Away from the top steps of the podium, several experienced solvers achieved standout personal milestones on the tournament floor. Santiago Jarpa Saez took on all 4 events and made a major breakthrough in Megaminx, recording a personal best of 1:10.14 to cut 11.2 percent from his previous best of 1:18.97. Matías Jesús Hernández Trujillo also entered all 4 events, improving his 7x7x7 Cube personal best by 4.5 percent with a new mark of 3:57.74 down from 4:08.82. Longtime tournament regular Diego Alonso Tapia Mera tackled 4 events as well, logging a new 5x5x5 Cube personal best single of 1:14.91.

The specialized focus of Titán Big N' Mega 2025 created a rare atmosphere distinct from broad-program events that center on standard 3x3 results. With no 3x3 on the roster, competitors poured their energy directly into the tactical pacing of larger puzzles, where individual turn counts number in the hundreds per solve. The smooth coordination at Titan 5084 highlighted the enduring depth of the speedcubing community in Santiago, Chile, where veteran handlers continue to sharpen their efficiency under tournament conditions.

Every podium position across the four categories remained within the host country, securing a complete sweep of twelve podium placements for Chile. The collective execution affirmed that seasoned solvers retain top-tier consistency even against physically taxing event lineups. As the 2025 competitive calendar moves forward, the high standards achieved at Titán Big N' Mega 2025 reinforce the strength of Chilean speed cubing at the highest levels of large-format puzzle solving.
