Beahan Claims Five Titles at St Fechins as Rivalries Ignite Termonfeckin Fast 2025English

Seventy-five competitors gathered at St Fechins GAA Club in Drogheda, Ireland across October 11 and October 12, sparking fierce regional rivalries across 13 events and 19 rounds of high-stakes speedcubing action. The battle for supremacy across the island and beyond defined the atmosphere at Termonfeckin Fast 2025, where domestic standouts traded blows on the timers against visiting talent across two intense days of puzzle-solving.

The premier 3x3x3 Cube contest delivered a thrilling showdown at the top of the standings. Ciarán Beahan captured the headline title with a winning average of 7.00 seconds and a round-best single of 6.67, holding off a sharp challenge from compatriot Stephanie Rose Martin, who locked in second place with an average of 7.58 seconds. CJ Furey rounded out the podium in third with an average of 7.77 seconds, giving local fans plenty to celebrate as the 3x3 results confirmed top-tier standard on Irish soil.

Beahan extended his dominance across the bigger puzzles, turning the Drogheda venue into a personal showcase. In the 4x4x4 Cube, Beahan claimed victory with a 22.93 average ahead of Martin at 28.91 and Elliott Laurent at 29.39. Beahan then secured the 5x5x5 Cube title with a 43.84 mark, again fending off Martin at 53.37 and Laurent at 53.46. In the 6x6x6 Cube, Beahan posted 1:18.60 to outpace Laurent at 1:39.64 and Martin at 1:42.13, before completing a five-event sweep by taking the 7x7x7 Cube with a winning average of 1:54.39.

While Beahan dominated the big cubes, international rivalry flared in other disciplines at this WCA competition. In Skewb, Nikita Grytsenko from Ukraine took the top spot with an average of 2.46 seconds, overcoming Irish contenders Hugo McGrath at 3.90 and Jamie Knox at 3.97. Grytsenko also led the field in 3x3x3 Fewest Moves with a single of 20 moves, earning two titles for Ukraine against the 38 total podium places collected by Irish competitors across the weekend.

Short-puzzle speed cubing brought further intra-national clashes. Lucas Patrick Dowling seized the 2x2x2 Cube crown with a swift 1.86 average, edging Daniel Hamilton at 2.00 and Martin at 2.02. In Megaminx, Martin claimed a well-deserved victory with an average of 29.44 seconds. Oisín Olwill won Pyraminx with a 2.95 average, while Jimi Naysmith topped Clock with an average of 4.07 seconds. Memory events brought dramatic tension, as Colm McCarthy won the 3x3x3 Blindfolded with a 41.31 average ahead of Kalin Doherty at 40.90, before Doherty captured the 4x4x4 Blindfolded title with an average of 4:05.01.
