William Jensen Dominates Six Events at SveKub Super League VIII: Jönköping 2023English

William Jensen delivered an overwhelming display of versatility over the weekend, securing first place across six different events at SveKub Super League VIII: Jönköping 2023. From big cubes to specialty twists, Jensen asserted his authority on the tables at Kulturhuset in Jönköping, Sweden on October 28 and 29. Beyond individual titles, the two-day gathering united a dedicated speedcubing community eager to test their skills side by side. Friends reunited, rivals compared methods between stages, and the wide array of official categories kept the venue buzzing across twenty-one intense rounds.

The premier 3x3x3 Cube event drew a packed field of sixty-four solvers, creating intense energy during the final showdown. Emanuel Schelin took top honours in the classic Rubik's Cube category, delivering a winning average of 6.78 seconds alongside the fastest single solve of the weekend at 5.88. Jensen followed in second place with a 7.68 average, while Daniel Wallin claimed the third podium position at 7.75. The decisive 3x3 results capped off three competitive rounds, highlighting the sharp technical execution required to triumph at a modern cubing competition.

Short-format puzzles also provided swift drama, highlighted by an ultra-competitive 2x2x2 Cube contest. Leo Lindqvist captured victory with a rapid 1.90 average, backed by a best single effort of 1.62 seconds. Jensen followed in second place at 2.04, and Schelin took third with 2.23. The event saw heavy rotation through the opening phases, where a series of top single marks reshaped personal standings. Speed cubing fans watched as Lindqvist, Jensen, Jakob Gunnarsson, and Ronnie Jinxuan Zhu all logged sub-two-second single solves on the small puzzle during the preliminary sessions.

Jensen found his ultimate rhythm in the heavier twisty categories, constructing a remarkable sweep. In 4x4x4 Cube, his 31.16 winning average topped Gunnarsson's 33.03 and Wallin's 33.99. He maintained that form in 5x5x5 Cube, clocking a 56.45 average to outpace Gunnarsson at 57.55 and Wallin at 1:01.66. Continuing to the largest challenge of the schedule, Jensen posted a 2:40.51 average to capture the 7x7x7 Cube title, once again finishing ahead of Gunnarsson's 2:44.41 and Wallin's 2:54.34, demonstrating extraordinary consistency on complex hardware.

The diverse schedule offered plenty of variety across specialty disciplines throughout SveKub Super League VIII: Jönköping 2023. In Megaminx, Jensen earned first place with a 43.10 average, edging out Gunnarsson's 43.94 and Wallin's 48.33. Jensen also took the Skewb title with an average of 3.53 seconds, holding off Max Hult at 4.62 and Wallin at 4.68. Gunnarsson claimed his own victory in 6x6x6 Cube with a 1:49.04 average, while Helmer Ewert led Square-1 with a winning mark of 8.34 seconds ahead of Jensen at 12.40.

Away from the top steps of the podium, personal milestones defined the heart of the weekend. Alexander Wallenrodhe Exadaktilos achieved a breakthrough in the main event, cutting his 3x3x3 Cube personal best by 49.6 percent down to 25.84 seconds, while making his first attempt at 2x2x2 Cube with a mark of 10.02. Konrad Bäck Ahlstedt shaved 40.3 percent from his 2x2x2 Cube best to hit 5.93 seconds, set a 3x3x3 mark of 23.67, and completed his first Megaminx solve at 3:47.64. Noa Johansson tackled ten events, lowering their 2x2x2 Cube best by 38.1 percent to 2.97 seconds, placing 20th in 3x3x3 Fewest Moves with an opening mark of 49, and recording a first 7x7x7 Cube result of 9:05.93. Mental endurance came to the fore in 3x3x3 Fewest Moves, a methodical event where solvers spent an hour working out efficient sequences on paper. Jensen led thirty-four participants with a sharp twenty-two-move single solution, collecting his sixth individual gold of the tournament. The calm focus of the move-count room served as an intriguing contrast to the fast-paced turning seen on the open stages, highlighting the breadth of talents demanded by the official circuit.

The 2023 edition concluded with Swedish competitors claiming all thirty-one available podium positions across the tournament. By the time the final timers stopped, sixty-five participants had tested themselves over two packed days of solving. With six victories for Jensen, standout solving from Schelin, Lindqvist, Gunnarsson, and Ewert, and numerous personal breakthroughs across ten disciplines, SveKub Super League VIII: Jönköping 2023 highlighted the vibrant camaraderie and depth of talent across the national community.
