SveKub Super League IV: Flen 2023 Highlights One-Handed Control and VersatilityEnglish

William Jensen delivered an exceptional display of dexterity at SveKub Super League IV: Flen 2023, capturing the 3x3x3 One-Handed title with a winning average of 13.83 seconds and a best single of 11.29 seconds. Solving the traditional Rubik's Cube with a single hand demands precise fingertricks, ergonomics, and table management, isolating solve execution to pure mechanical efficiency. Jensen navigated the 20-competitor field across two rounds with smooth turning and reliable lookahead, establishing a commanding standard across both stages of the discipline.

The two-day cubing competition, hosted at Aktivitetshuset Skjortan in Flen, Sweden, ran from April 29 to April 30, 2023. Gathering 30 competitors across 15 distinct events and 30 rounds of play, the weekend delivered high-level speedcubing across puzzles of every shape and discipline. Swedish competitors swept all 45 podium positions available throughout the schedule, proving the overall strength and depth of the regional field across short sprints, complex side events, and arduous memory challenges alike.

Beyond one-handed solving, William Jensen assembled a remarkably dominant weekend across multiple puzzles. He secured the 2x2x2 Cube title with a blazing 1.45-second average, complemented by a 1.24 single. Jensen carried that speed into Pyraminx, winning with a 3.26 average, and went on to claim both Megaminx in 44.66 and the 5x5x5 Cube with a 52.99 average. His performances showed supreme mastery of fingertrick control, puzzle mechanics, and pace across distinct formats.

Daniel Wallin matched that dominance with an extraordinary showing of versatility across conventional solves and blindfolded events at SveKub Super League IV: Flen 2023. In standard events, Wallin secured the classic 3x3x3 Cube crown with a winning average of 7.66 seconds, posting a 7.03 best single from among 28 entrants. He also clinched victories in Skewb with a 3.96 average and the 4x4x4 Cube with a 29.99 average, balancing speed and calculation across the core lineup.

Wallin distinguished himself further in the complex mental disciplines where memorisation and spatial recollection rule. In 3x3x3 Fewest Moves, he took top honours with an efficient single of 24 moves. Moving to blindfolded solving, Wallin logged a 19.66-second single in 3x3x3 Blindfolded, a 1:24.77 single in 4x4x4 Blindfolded, and a 6:30.63 single in 5x5x5 Blindfolded to sweep the individual blind events. In 3x3x3 Multi-Blind, he successfully resolved 30 out of 36 cubes within the one-hour limit.

Away from the top steps of the podium, several competitors logged significant personal breakthroughs during the weekend. Calle Sakari tackled 11 events, achieving a career-best 7th place finish in 3x3x3 Fewest Moves, making first attempts at Megaminx in 2:34.99 and 5x5x5 Cube in 3:38.18, while dropping their Clock mark by 50.5 percent down to 17.26. Elliot Lindström entered four events, posting an 8.63 in their first Pyraminx attempt alongside massive personal cuts of 48.9 percent in 3x3x3 Cube to 31.69 and 47.6 percent in 2x2x2 Cube to 9.05. Edvin Andersson took on six events, logging a first 5x5x5 Cube mark of 4:21.22, improving their 4x4x4 Cube best by 19.3 percent to 1:32.34, and securing a 7.17 personal mark in Skewb.

Other competitors similarly expanded their competition horizons and set new benchmarks throughout the schedule. Thor Fagerström registered for seven events, recording initial marks in Square-1 with a 34.94 and Megaminx with a 2:01.46 while taking their 2x2x2 Cube personal best down to 7.55, an 11.7 percent drop. David Videfrost took on two events, establishing a first Megaminx result of 3:17.43 and improving their Clock personal best by 11.2 percent to 15.40. Noa Sjögren entered four events, shaving 10 percent off their 2x2x2 Cube standard to finish with a personal best of 12.29.

Additional individual event titles rounded out the schedule with notable finishes. Samuel Eklund-Hanna claimed the Clock title with a sharp 4.83 average, while Helmer Ewert secured the Square-1 victory with a 9.79 average. The tournament also featured a flurry of personal bests and rapid performances in the 2x2x2 rounds, where competitors pushed turning speeds to the limit.
