Traversing challenging terrain and making the climb to the central highlands, solvers converged for Summer of the Cube Huancayo 2026 across February 28 and March 1, 2026. The journey proved well worth the effort as the schedule unfolded over 21 intense rounds of competition, showcasing elite speedcubing across puzzles of every shape and size.

The battle for the main Rubik's Cube crown proved fiercely competitive across three distinct rounds. Ronald Fernando Remuzgo Salazar locked down first place with his 9.07 mark, including a lightning-fast single of 7.17 seconds. Pedro Giuseppe Garcia Milla emerged as the weekend's most prolific champion, securing four separate victories. Large cubes belonged entirely to Marcelo Nuñez, who swept the biggest hardware on offer in the central valley. Nuñez took top honours in the 5x5x5 Cube with a 54.92 average, leading Garcia Milla and Gonzaga Quijano on the podium. He carried that momentum straight into the 6x6x6 Cube, recording a decisive 1:31.76 average to defeat Garcia Milla and Gonzaga Quijano once again. Specialised twisty puzzles generated equally tight margins on the Electrocentro stage. Andrés Hisashi Suzuki Cabrera captured two individual titles, winning Clock with a 4.42 average and best single of 3.47 seconds before topping the Square-1 podium with an 8.20 average over Remuzgo Salazar and Garcia Milla. Liam Benjamín Sedano Reyes shaved 32.6 percent off his Pyraminx best to hit 10.31, improved by 27.6 percent in 2x2x2 to 6.39, and cut his 3x3x3 time by 20.6 percent to 25.80. Yenko Angel Cárdenas Ramírez delivered a 19.3 percent improvement in 4x4x4 to 47.88, while recording his first ever official attempts in Megaminx at 1:11.43 and Clock at 9.00.

The weekend also served as an ideal proving ground for new event debuts. Álvaro David Torres Rodriguez entered six events at Summer of the Cube Huancayo 2026, registering his first ever attempts in 4x4x4 with 1:31.26, Megaminx with 1:55.31, and Pyraminx with 7.72, which earned him 11th place. Eduardo Aguilar tackled five events, recording his first attempts in 3x3x3 One-Handed with 44.35 and Skewb with 10.99, alongside a 16.6 percent personal best improvement in 3x3x3 to 18.92. Deyvi Quiroz Arroyo logged his first official attempts in 5x5x5 with 1:51.74 and One-Handed with 29.15, while improving his 3x3x3 best by 10.8 percent to 10.28. Mathew Aron Sanchez Quintero completed first official attempts in Pyraminx at 9.53 and 4x4x4 at 1:03.84, adding a 9 percent drop in 3x3x3 to 17.39.

The comprehensive two-day WCA competition highlighted the strength of regional speed cubing, with Peruvian competitors sweeping all 39 podium placements. From the sprint rounds of 2x2x2 to the lengthy multi-layer puzzles, the competitors who travelled from across the region found plenty of reasons to celebrate at Summer of the Cube Huancayo 2026. En las pruebas de maxima velocidad, el clasico cubo de Rubik ofrecio una de las definiciones mas electrizantes del certamen. Dentro de la final de 3x3x3 Cube en Summer of the Cube Huancayo 2026, Ronald Fernando Remuzgo Salazar se alzo con el triunfo gracias a un promedio de 9.07 segundos, registrando ademas el mejor registro individual del fin de semana con 7.17 segundos. Pedro Giuseppe Garcia Milla se quedo con el segundo lugar con una marca de 9.20, mientras que Andrés Hisashi Suzuki Cabrera aseguro el tercer puesto con 10.14.

La contienda en 2x2x2 Cube fue todavia mas ajustada entre los mismos protagonistas de la categoria reina. En 4x4x4 Cube logro el primer puesto con un promedio de 32.51 segundos, superando a Ronald Fernando Remuzgo Salazar que marco 32.91 y a Michel Andre Gonzaga Quijano con 36.10. Asimismo, Garcia Milla gano la prueba a ciegas de 3x3x3 Blindfolded con un tiempo de 47.91 segundos, venciendo a Andrés Hisashi Suzuki Cabrera que cronometro 1:26.82 y a Russel Edson Vilca Davila con 1:42.79. Garcia Milla tambien sumo la victoria en Skewb con un promedio de 4.72 segundos.

Por su parte, Ronald Fernando Remuzgo Salazar demostro su versatilidad al consagrarse en 3x3x3 One-Handed tras completar un promedio de 14.89 segundos, escoltado por Pedro Giuseppe Garcia Milla con 15.30 y Thiago Jorell Rojas Pucuhuaranga con 15.99. Remuzgo Salazar anoto ademas la victoria en Megaminx con una media de 45.01 segundos. En las pruebas de Square-1 y Clock, Andrés Hisashi Suzuki Cabrera conquisto el primer lugar con promedios de 8.20 y 4.42 segundos respectivamente, en tanto Leonardo José Hilario Cori gano en Pyraminx con 3.38 segundos de promedio.

Detras de los primeros lugares, numerosos competidores alcanzaron importantes metas personales que enriquecieron las jornadas. Aimar Angel Cárdenas Ramírez compitio en 4 pruebas y obtuvo una notable mejora en 4x4x4 Cube al registrar 41.88 segundos, siendo un 22.9 por ciento mas rapido que su marca anterior de 54.31, ademas de mejorar un 20.8 por ciento en 2x2x2 Cube con 2.63 y un 18.2 por ciento en Pyraminx con 4.91. Matias Antonio Miguel Silva afronto 2 eventos, logrando el puesto 15 en 2x2x2 Cube con un mejor tiempo de 4.63 y recortando un 18.1 por ciento su marca en 3x3x3 Cube con 12.70. Fabio César Morales Hernández negocio 3 categorias y rebajo un 18.6 por ciento en 2x2x2 Cube con 5.88, un 6.1 por ciento en 3x3x3 Cube con 15.45 e inscribio 1:04.51 en 4x4x4 Cube. Iker Frank Beltran Chamorro realizo su primer intento oficial en 5x5x5 Cube, completandolo en 2:21.88 para ubicarse en el puesto 14.

El certamen marco tambien el debut absoluto de nuevos rostros en una competicion de la WCA. Danilo Sebastian Suazo Berrocal vivio su primera participacion en 3 eventos, logrando el puesto 15 en Pyraminx con 9.86 en su primer intento, junto a registros de 8.72 en 2x2x2 Cube y 24.39 en 3x3x3 Cube. Marcelo La Rosa Miranda debuto afrontando 4 pruebas, firmando tiempos de estreno de 17.26 en 3x3x3 Cube, 14.97 en Pyraminx y 5.00 en 2x2x2 Cube. Drake Marlon Ramos Reategui participo por primera vez en 3 categorias, completando sus intentos iniciales con 20.12 en Pyraminx, 9.58 en 2x2x2 Cube y 41.31 en 3x3x3 Cube. Lucciana Yael Victoria Saforas Yachi encaro 2 eventos en su debut, logrando 48.41 en 3x3x3 Cube y 16.27 en 2x2x2 Cube.

Las categorias de cubos gigantes contaron con el dominio absoluto de Marcelo Nuñez a lo largo de las rondas unicas disputadas. En 5x5x5 Cube gano con un promedio de 54.92 segundos, aventajando a Pedro Giuseppe Garcia Milla con 57.10 y a Michel Andre Gonzaga Quijano con 58.61. Nuñez repitio en 6x6x6 Cube con 1:31.76 de media, seguido por Garcia Milla con 1:44.48 y Gonzaga Quijano con 1:46.67, cerrando su triplete mayor en 7x7x7 Cube con una marca ganadora de 2:18.90.

El cierre de Summer of the Cube Huancayo 2026 confirmo el gran nivel de la disciplina en el pais con 13 pruebas oficiales disputadas y los 39 puestos de podio conseguidos por representantes locales. Con grandes marcas individuales y promedios sumamente ajustados, la actividad competitiva cerro dos jornadas intensas en la sierra central peruana, proyectando un panorama competitivo solido hacia los proximos torneos del calendario.
