SSN Cube Challenge 2025

A mere 0.06 seconds decided the title in the 2x2x2 Cube final, setting an intense tone for the SSN Cube Challenge 2025. Across three rounds featuring 79 competitors, the smallest mistakes carried heavy consequences. Akhil Vikram of Canada secured the top spot on the podium with a decisive 2.73 winning average and a single of 1.73, barely holding off India's Johan Peter, who finished right behind at 2.79. Muhammad Rayyan claimed third place with a 2.91 average, putting the entire podium inside an eighteen-hundredths-of-a-second window. The thrilling finish showed how fierce the margins remain at this level of modern speedcubing.

Held across November 15 and November 16 at the Sri Sivasubramaniya Nadar College of Engineering in Chengalpattu, Tamil Nadu, India, the two-day cubing competition drew 94 competitors contesting 11 distinct events across 25 rounds. Enthusiasts and seasoned puzzle solvers traveled from across the region to test their skills at the classic Rubik's Cube alongside larger big cubes, mechanical clock puzzles, and blindfolded events. The overall medal haul was heavily dominated by domestic talent, with Indian competitors claiming 32 podium places alongside Canada's single podium finish in the two-by-two tournament.

The 3x3x3 Cube event drew a large field of 91 entrants through three full rounds of play, delivering clear 3x3 results at the final table. Dhruv Thirumalairajan emerged victorious, putting together a winning average of 7.91 along with the competition's best single of 7.45. Vijay Kishore took the second step on the podium with a 9.12 average, closely trailed by Shreyash Boddepalli in third place at 9.15. Thirumalairajan's triumph in the traditional puzzle was only the start of an extraordinary, multi-discipline campaign across the entire weekend.

Beyond his main-event victory, Thirumalairajan mounted a massive sweep across multiple disciplines, claiming four additional gold medals. In 3x3x3 One-Handed, he topped a field of 34 competitors with an average of 14.43 and a single of 13.08, besting Shashvat D. Vagesh at 15.45 and Arin Jacub Minj at 15.46. Moving on to the bigger cubes, he swept the 5x5x5 Cube in 46.68, the 6x6x6 Cube in 1:27.52, and the 7x7x7 Cube in 2:11.98. In all three big cube events, Sukant Koul and Muhammad Rayyan secured the second and third podium spots respectively, cementing a familiar hierarchy across the extended puzzles.

Away from the top of the podiums, the event highlighted tremendous personal strides and milestone attempts from competitors making progress across diverse categories. Mihiira Arun Bose competed in four events, recording a first ever attempt at Pyraminx of 14.48, a first attempt at Skewb of 13.13, and a 2x2x2 personal best of 11.75 that was 70.2 percent faster than the previous mark. Vihaan Rathnavel tackled four events, producing an 8.11 initial Skewb attempt, a 23.73 personal record in the 3x3x3 Cube that improved by 24.8 percent, and a 6.13 in 2x2x2 that shaved off 66.8 percent. Bhuvan Vigneswar logged a first 3x3x3 time of 47.89, a first Skewb solve of 26.20, and improved his 2x2x2 best to 7.45, a 38.9 percent drop. Manav Dev Anand took on nine events, finishing fifth in 3x3x3 Multi-Blind, recording debuts in Skewb at 13.92 and 6x6x6 at 4:13.69, while cutting his 5x5x5 best by 36.7 percent to 2:31.48.

The drive to expand repertoires continued across the venue floor. Nithilan S stepped up to six events, earning tenth place in 6x6x6 Cube while making first career attempts at 5x5x5 with 2:09.92, 6x6x6 with 3:18.35, and 7x7x7 with 7:05.92. Pranav Jai entered seven categories, capturing ninth in Pyraminx and putting up debut times in Clock at 8.96, Skewb at 6.09, and 5x5x5 at 3:07.69. Nithiyasree P took on four events, setting an initial Skewb mark of 17.62 alongside personal bests of 9.40 in 2x2x2, an improvement of 53.3 percent, and 14.36 in Pyraminx, cutting 45 percent. Nisvath Ariyhan participated in three events, recording a debut Pyraminx time of 13.64 and dropping his 2x2x2 best by 58.9 percent down to 12.97.

Specialist categories brought additional standout moments to the SSN Cube Challenge 2025 stage. Sukant Koul enjoyed a superb showing in the memory disciplines and specialty apparatus. In the 3x3x3 Blindfolded event, which requires complete memorisation of cube states before solving without sight, Koul posted a winning average of 21.17 and a single of 19.23, finishing ahead of Anirudh Narasimhan at 41.97 and Mohamed Bilal at 1:36.26. Koul followed with a commanding performance in 3x3x3 Multi-Blind, securing 31 out of 39 cubes in a time of 58:36. Mohamed Bilal placed second with 10 of 13 cubes in 1:00:00, while Muhammed Shehzad Khan earned third with 4 of 5 in 27:58.

Koul also took the top prize in Clock, notching a winning average of 5.30 from a field of 25 entrants. In other side events, Rajha Sirokshan conquered the 66-player Pyraminx bracket with a 3.05 average and a 2.41 single, while Sahas Darsh Miglani topped the 48-competitor Skewb tournament averaging 3.92. With its mixture of split-second podium margins, demanding endurance puzzles, and dozens of personal milestones, the SSN Cube Challenge 2025 demonstrated the vibrant depth of speed cubing in 2025 as the community looks forward to the next season of competition.

अन्य शॉर्ट-पहेलियों में Rajha Sirokshan ने Pyraminx में 3.05 के औसत और 2.41 के बेस्ट सिंगल के साथ 66 प्रतियोगियों के बीच खिताबी जीत दर्ज की। Skewb स्पर्धा में 48 प्रतिभागियों के बीच Sahas Darsh Miglani ने 3.92 के औसत और 3.56 के बेस्ट सिंगल के साथ पहला स्थान प्राप्त किया। इस क्यूबिंग कॉम्पिटिशन में विभिन्न प्रकार की पहेलियों में शीर्ष स्तर की टाइमिंग देखने को मिली, जिसने दोनों दिन कार्यक्रम को बेहद जीवंत बनाए रखा।

परिणाम तालिका के पीछे कई खिलाड़ियों ने इस वीकेंड अपने व्यक्तिगत कीर्तिमान स्थापित किए। Sandeep M ने 3x3x3 One-Handed में 24.65 का समय निकालकर अपने पुराने समय 46.72 में 47.2 प्रतिशत का भारी सुधार किया और 3x3x3 Cube में 10.48 दर्ज किया। Sai Krishna ने 2x2x2 Cube में 8.54 का समय निकाला जो उनके पुराने समय से 45.6 प्रतिशत तेज था। Yugesh Krishna P ने Pyraminx में 19.48 का समय दर्ज कर 40.6 प्रतिशत की बढ़त बनाई और 3x3x3 Cube में 43.35 निकाला। Harish Kumar ने Pyraminx में 11.25 का समय बनाया और पहली बार Clock में 20.94 का समय दर्ज किया।

पहली बार WCA कॉम्पिटिशन में उतरने वाले प्रतिभागियों ने भी कई स्पर्धाओं में मजबूत शुरुआत की। Tarun Siva ने अपने पहले आधिकारिक टूर्नामेंट में 2x2x2 Cube में 5.04 और 3x3x3 Cube में 13.22 का प्रयास दर्ज किया। Panaruna Mohammed Arad ने 2x2x2 Cube में 6.79 और 3x3x3 Cube में 30.37 का पहला प्रयास किया। Manveer Aashish Vaswani ने चार स्पर्धाओं में भाग लेते हुए Pyraminx में 11.20 का समय दर्ज किया। Elijah Prince ने भी अपनी पहली प्रतियोगिता में Skewb में 10.38 और 2x2x2 Cube में 8.62 का समय बनाया।

Chengalpattu में आयोजित SSN Cube Challenge 2025 का यह संस्करण भारत और कनाडा के स्पीडक्यूबर्स के शानदार प्रदर्शन के साथ संपन्न हुआ, जिसमें कुल 33 पोडियम स्थानों में से 32 भारत के नाम रहे। कुल 94 प्रतियोगियों की भागीदारी और Dhruv Thirumalairajan के पांच स्वर्ण पदकों के साथ यह सप्ताहांत गति, एकाग्रता और नए रिकॉर्ड्स के निर्माण का शानदार उत्सव साबित हुआ।
