Canyon Pettitt Sweeps Four Titles at Southern Utah Summer 2025 in St. GeorgeEnglish
Canyon Pettitt turned in a commanding performance on May 3, 2025, capturing four separate championship titles at the Dixie Convention Center during Southern Utah Summer 2025. Across five contested disciplines, Pettitt demonstrated remarkable focus, maintaining total technical control over extended solving sessions. Speedcubing demands rigorous visual memory, unwavering spatial awareness, and precise execution under the clock. Pettitt channeled that level of intense concentration to dominate both big cubes and twisty side events, setting the standard for the single-day gathering in St. George, Utah, USA.
The 3x3x3 Cube contest stood at the center of the cubing competition, drawing a field of 29 competitors across three competitive rounds. Pettitt emerged victorious in the final with an 8.26 winning average, supported by a blazing best single time of 6.14 seconds. Mateo Tiul secured the runner-up spot on the podium with a 9.15 average, while Isaac Myers claimed third place by posting an even 10.00 average. The deep field demonstrated rapid turns and sharp lookahead, generating exciting 3x3 results throughout the afternoon.
Beyond the classic Rubik's Cube, the larger puzzles tested stamina and foresight. Pettitt secured the 4x4x4 Cube victory with an average of 34.25 and a best single of 31.46 across two rounds featuring 22 entrants. Mateo Tiul earned second place with a 36.28 average, followed by Amethyst Mak in third at 40.02.
