Sotenäs Summer Solving 2023 Delivers Tight Podiums and Multievent Mastery in HunnebostrandEnglish

Inside the Folkets Hus Hunnebostrand, the sound of turning plastic echoed across two full days of competition from June 24 to June 25. Tables were lined with timers, mats, and stopwatches as twenty-four speedcubers gathered on the Swedish coast for a weekend of intense puzzle solving. The atmosphere inside the hall was focused and brisk, with competitors moving between staging areas and solve stations across twenty scheduled rounds. Before any trophies were awarded or standings finalised, the venue was defined by quick hand adjustments, quiet inspection periods, and the steady rhythm of tournament play.

The closest finish of the weekend arrived in the Skewb final, where the entire podium was decided by mere fractions of a second. Martin Zhang took the title with a winning average of 5.32 seconds, barely staying ahead of Pep Edén, who secured second place with an average of 5.67 seconds. Bosse Schelander completed the podium in third place at 6.91 seconds, keeping the pressure on the leaders right down to the final turns. With less than four tenths of a second separating the top two, the event proved to be one of the most exciting battles of Sotenäs Summer Solving 2023.

Pep Edén emerged as the most versatile competitor throughout the tournament, taking victories across six different formats. In the premier 3x3x3 Cube, Edén topped the 3x3 results with an average of 9.20 seconds, anchored by a best single of 7.97 seconds across three rounds. Edén also swept the 2x2x2 Cube with a winning average of 2.59 seconds, outpacing a twenty-two competitor field that saw three full rounds of quick-fire solving.

Edén continued his dominant run in the bigger puzzles and specialty disciplines. In 4x4x4 Cube, Edén took first place with an average of 40.61 seconds and a best single of 36.86 seconds, finishing ahead of Ronnie Jinxuan Zhu with 45.74 and Bosse Schelander with 48.46. Pep Edén glänste i snabba grenar under Sotenäs Summer Solving 2023Svenska
