Korean Solvers Sweep Every Podium Spot at Seoul Spring 2023English

The competition hall at Jung-gu Citizen Hall buzzed with focused energy as 284 competitors took their places across the solving stations in 서울특별시 (Seoul), Korea. On May 7, 2023, the venue hosted a packed schedule of events that drew a huge turnout of Rubik's Cube enthusiasts from across the country. Over five fast-paced rounds, speedcubing talent was on full display as solvers worked through four official disciplines ranging from small mechanical sprints to deep memory challenges.

By the conclusion of the day, host-nation competitors had accomplished a total sweep across the board, capturing all 12 available podium positions. The dominance of Korea across every event highlighted the remarkable standard of speed cubing present throughout the tournament. Leading the way was DongSoo Park (박동수), who secured two separate titles, anchoring a tournament where local talent dictated the pace from the morning qualifiers straight through to the afternoon finals.

The premier 3x3x3 Cube event drew a massive field of 277 competitors across two intense rounds of solving. DongSoo Park (박동수) earned the top position on the podium with a winning average of 7.65 seconds, backed by a best single solve of 6.06 seconds. SeungO Han (한승오) claimed second place with a 7.84 average, while Doyul Kim (김도율) took third with an average of 7.92.
