SAJ Águas da Prata 2024 Delivers Big Personal Bests and Multi-Event ThrillsEnglish

Giovane Rubin Fioravanti delivered the standout performance of the weekend by capturing the premier 3x3x3 Cube title with a winning average of 8.44 seconds and a best single of 8.04. That sharp final set the tone for an action-packed weekend of speedcubing at SAJ Águas da Prata 2024. Staged over May 25 and May 26, the tournament gathered 47 competitors in Aguas da Prata, São Paulo, Brazil. Hosted at the Sociedade dos Amigos da Infância e Juventude de Águas da Prata, the gathering brought together competitors across 11 official events and 18 total rounds.

For many in attendance, the experience of a live cubing competition brought the thrill of stepping up to the timer for the very first time. Walking into the venue, adjusting to the official inspection countdown, and feeling the nervous energy before the opening turn made the weekend memorable. With 43 solvers taking part in the flagship Rubik's Cube rounds alone, every tier of the field found personal benchmarks to chase under official tournament conditions.

Behind the top podium spots, several competitors quietly logged remarkable progress across the schedule. Leticia da Ponte Nacif secured one of the sharpest drops of the competition, shaving 69 percent off her Pyraminx personal record with a 10.01 single. André Taberti Santos entered five events, recording his first ever attempt at Square-1 with a 1:21.52 finish while taking 51.8 percent off his Clock mark at 15.52 and dropping 26.5 percent on Pyraminx to hit 10.31. Eduardo Henrique Nascimento de Lima took on two events, achieving a 20.61 single in the 3x3x3 Cube that was 44.1 percent faster than before alongside a debut 10.80 Pyraminx run.

That drive continued through several other packed schedules across both days of SAJ Águas da Prata 2024. Gabriel Valenciano Américo contested seven events, taking sixth place in 6x6x6 Cube, improving his Clock single by 41.8 percent down to 13.37, lowering his 3x3x3 One-Handed mark by 24.7 percent to 23.06, and clocking 11.91 in 3x3x3.
