Desjardin and Cherblanc Power Through demanding Slate at Rians Open Mini Edition 2024English

Marie Vincent delivered the single most striking performance of the weekend at Salle des fêtes by conquering the twelve-sided Megaminx in a commanding 50.31 average. The marathon event demanded immense stamina and finger precision, setting a high standard of endurance across the venue. That formidable display captured the intensity of Rians Open Mini Edition 2024, held on July 6, 2024 in Rians, France. Over the course of thirteen packed rounds across eight distinct events, forty-two competitors pushed through demanding solve sequences in a compact, action-filled day of speed cubing.

The broader competition tested stamina at every turn, with complex puzzles requiring relentless focus and deep technical mastery. While traditional big-layer puzzles define true endurance in modern speedcubing, events like Square-1 and Megaminx similarly drained competitors physically and mentally. Marie Vincent stood atop the Megaminx podium after putting together a tournament-best single of 47.35, holding off Jules Desjardin at 55.06 and Clément Cherblanc at 56.02. The field of eighteen contenders in that extended discipline demonstrated how strategic pacing remains paramount during long-format solves.

Clément Cherblanc put on a versatile display across several specialty brackets, capturing three separate titles throughout the day. In Square-1, Cherblanc led the field of eleven competitors with a sharp 14.22 winning average, boosted by an unmatched 9.56 single. Jules Desjardin took second place with a 19.06 average, while Romain Stefan secured third at 20.50. Cherblanc also topped the Skewb roster with a 5.27 average ahead of Thomas de Dreuille at 5.89 and Iulian Mustata at 7.62, proving his sharp adaptability across very different puzzle geometries.

The classic 3x3x3 Rubik's Cube brought out the entire field of forty-two entrants, culminating in an electrifying two-round duel for the championship. Jules Desjardin captured first place with an 8.66 winning average, matching that consistency with a fast 7.80 single. Clément Cherblanc followed closely behind in second place with an 8.83 average, while Antoine Quemerais rounded out the podium at 9.48. These tight 3x3 results highlighted the razor-thin margins separating the nation's premier solvers at Rians Open Mini Edition 2024.

Antoine Quemerais secured his own victory in the fast-paced 2x2x2 Cube final, averaging 3.42 across the concluding round to outpace Samuel Jehanno at 3.75 and Enzo Perriat at 3.76. In Pyraminx, Jules Desjardin took his second title of the meet, clocking a blistering 2.99 average and a 1.98 single to finish ahead of Quemerais at 4.92 and Cherblanc at 5.43.
