Quiet Nivelles 2025 Crowns Blindfolded and Fewest Moves ChampionsEnglish

Inside Collège saint Gertrude, the atmosphere held a disciplined intensity as competitor stations were arranged for pure concentration. The specialized weekend program in Nivelles, Belgium gathered solvers for a demanding two-day schedule spanning June 28 to June 29, 2025. With silence enforced across the venue floor, eighteen competitors took their seats to contest five distinct mental events. The championship format offered little room for error, requiring total precision across eight rounds of elite competition where a single misstep during memorisation or execution could end a podium bid instantly.

This edition of Quiet Nivelles 2025 brought together top specialists for an intense cubing competition centered on non-traditional disciplines. Instead of rapid-fire turning on visual cues, the slate rewarded extended memorisation, structural analysis, and flawless spatial calculation. Entrants prepared their workspaces under rigorous oversight, aiming for national and international success across classic Rubik's Cube variations. With titles, podium rankings, and personal bests on the line, every participant had to balance speed with high-stakes consistency over the course of the full weekend.

The 3x3x3 Blindfolded event proved to be one of the most contested brackets of the meeting, drawing eighteen competitors across three rounds. Olivier Vos of the Netherlands secured victory with an impressive best single solve of 18.12 seconds in the final, overcoming an official DNF average to claim the title. Bhargav Narasimhan of India earned the silver medal with a best single of 33.74 seconds, while Michael Ngan of Hong Kong completed the podium in third place at 45.54 seconds. The 3x3 results in the blind bracket demonstrated high-level execution under extreme time constraints.

Vos doubled his championship tally in 3x3x3 Multi-Blind, an event that pushed endurance to the limit across a single round of sixteen entrants. The Dutch competitor successfully solved 23 out of 25 cubes in a winning time of 56 minutes and 1 second. Bowen Xie representing Belgium claimed second place after logging 14 out of 15 cubes in 55:00. Germany's Jan Bentlage took third position on the podium by delivering 13 out of 14 cubes in 37:07, showcasing remarkable pace and recall during the marathon discipline.

The 3x3x3 Fewest Moves contest tested theoretical efficiency over two rounds among thirteen competitors. Jan Bentlage of Germany took top honors with a winning average of 22.67 moves, supported by a standout single of 20 moves. Kai Cui of the United Kingdom followed closely in second place with a 24.00 average, while Simone Bentlage of Germany took the third spot with an average of 28.33 moves. The event rewarded deep reconstruction and alternative algorithmic paths over pure mechanical speed.

Away from the top of the standings, Quiet Nivelles 2025 delivered several remarkable individual milestones that reflected deep personal preparation. Jano Neyt of Belgium, appearing in his 21st career tournament, achieved a massive breakthrough in 3x3x3 Blindfolded with a personal best single of 3:32.36, improving on his previous mark of 6:29.75 by 45.5 percent and also finishing 8th in 4x4x4 Blindfolded. Compatriot Joachim Neyt took on his 19th career WCA competition and delivered a successful first ever attempt at 3x3x3 Blindfolded, logging an official time of 5:39.24 across his singular event entry.

The personal breakthroughs continued across the Belgian contingent throughout the quiet weekend. Emilio Tanzarella entered three disciplines at his 25th tournament, trimming his 3x3x3 Blindfolded personal best down to 2:22.06 from 2:58.18 to make it 20.3 percent faster, while also improving his 3x3x3 Fewest Moves mark to 43 moves. Jesse Moens contested three events at his 56th competition, recording a personal best of 41 moves in Fewest Moves alongside a 13th-place finish in Multi-Blind, while Jef Van Vaerenbergh took on three events and secured a 7th-place finish in Fewest Moves.

Big cube blindfolded events rounded out the schedule, where Michael Ngan dominated the upper tier of puzzle complexity. In the 4x4x4 Blindfolded event featuring twelve competitors, Ngan captured first place with a single of 3:23.12, ahead of Jan Bentlage in second at 5:15.63 and Bhargav Narasimhan in third at 6:35.94. Ngan repeated his triumph in the 5x5x5 Blindfolded event against seven entrants, taking gold with a winning single of 8:39.48, while Jan Bentlage and Simone Bentlage took silver and bronze with times of 11:26.00 and 15:37.00 respectively.

By the conclusion of the weekend, competitors from six different nations shared podium honors, led by Germany with six podium places and Hong Kong with three. The gathering at Collège saint Gertrude highlighted the depth of speed cubing talent across the most demanding memory formats on the calendar. As the equipment was packed away in Nivelles, Quiet Nivelles 2025 stood as an exceptional showcase of concentration, endurance, and elite speedcubing precision.
