Bolivia Sweeps Every Podium Spot as Delgado Wins 3x3 at Primavera Paceña 2023English

Bolivian competitors produced an absolute clean sweep at Primavera Paceña 2023, capturing all eighteen podium positions across six distinct events in an emphatic showcase for local speedcubing. Held at Parque de las Culturas in La Paz, Bolivia, on September 30, 2023, the single-day gathering brought together 76 competitors. At the center of the action stood the classic 3x3x3 Cube, where Enrique Adolfo Delgado delivered the standout victory of the day. Delgado clinched top honors in the three-round main event with an 8.79 winning average and a crisp 7.85 best single, leading an all-Bolivian podium ahead of Luzio Batuani Conde and Alejandro Marze Rossel.

The 3x3 results formed the centerpiece of eight total rounds of intense action at the venue. Delgado was steady from start to finish among the 76-player field, holding off Conde, who posted a second-place average of 9.29, and Rossel, who took third with 9.35. That triumph proved to be just one piece of Delgado's extensive weekend schedule, but the tone had been set early: Bolivian solvers controlled every step of the podium across every discipline.

No competitor had a busier day collecting hardware than Alejandro Marze Rossel, who secured two titles and factored heavily into multiple disciplines. In the 4x4x4 Cube, Rossel outpaced 34 other entrants to capture first place with a 31.44 average and a best single solve of 28.39. Josias Milan Sirpa Pinto claimed second with a 34.42 average, while Delgado rounded out the top three at 35.62. Rossel then turned his attention to the Megaminx, navigating the dodecahedral challenge to win with a 56.13 average, edging out Favio Tapia and Delgado.

The larger puzzles also saw Josias Milan Sirpa Pinto step to the top of the podium in the 5x5x5 Cube. Pinto recorded a winning average of 1:03.04 along with a 57.47 single, finishing ahead of Delgado's 1:07.34 average and Rossel's 1:09.76 mark in a tight battle among the 22 competitors who entered the event. The duel underlined the depth of talent present at the Parque de las Culturas venue, where solvers pushed the boundaries across both big cubes and side events.

Shorter puzzle rounds delivered lightning-fast resolution in La Paz. In the 2x2x2 Cube, Amaru Aloys Ancasi Pevec won the title over 56 rivals with a dominant 2.32 average and a best single of 1.68. Daniel C. Bedoya took second place with a 3.27 average, while Luzio Batuani Conde secured third in 4.46. Meanwhile, the Pyraminx saw Nahuel Obando Boller soar to victory with a 3.76 average and a 3.21 single, clear of Jose Mauricio Colque Mamani and Jhersson Cabezas Luizaga.

Away from the podium battles, several competitors achieved remarkable milestones and personal breakthroughs across the schedule. Cristofer Brandon Azuga Colque shaved massive time off his previous marks, recording a Pyraminx personal best of 6.83 that was 49.1% faster than his previous standard, while also notching a 19.72 personal best in the 3x3x3 Cube and attempting the 2x2x2 Cube for the first time with a 7.21 solve. Nilo Erick Huanca Hilario made great strides by cutting his 2x2x2 Cube personal best to 4.37, an improvement of 47.5%, alongside a 12.09 personal best in the 3x3x3 Cube and a first ever Megaminx attempt of 2:13.29. Gael Osvaldo Villarroel Torrez dropped his 2x2x2 Cube best by 45.4% down to 3.10 and took on his first ever attempt at 5x5x5 Cube in 4:06.04. Cristian Quispe Quisbert completed six events, achieving a Pyraminx personal best of 5.80, which was 37.2% faster, and posting his first ever attempts in both Megaminx and 5x5x5 Cube.

Other dedicated solvers embraced new challenges and lower times across the board. Andrés Hugo Torrez Calizaya took on his first ever attempt at Pyraminx with a 9.11 solve while improving his 3x3x3 Cube mark to 11.18, a 39% jump. Arvin Jhair Arce Vasquez tackled his first ever attempt at 4x4x4 Cube, posting a 1:04.63, and recorded an improved 12.68 personal best in the 3x3x3 Cube. Jhammil Asier Terrazas Espinoza registered first-time marks in three distinct events, clocking 8.81 in Pyraminx, 1:56.97 in 4x4x4 Cube, and 2:49.07 in Megaminx.
