Beyond those four titles, Thirumalairajan added runner-up finishes in both the 3x3x3 Cube and 3x3x3 One-Handed events. The weekend showcased intense speedcubing action in Bengaluru, Karnataka, India across January 17 and January 18, 2026.

Making an 11-event schedule operate across 18 rounds required meticulous dedication from the tournament organizers, World Cube Association delegates, and local volunteers. Coordinating 71 competitors across two days demands smooth judging transitions, punctual scramble queues, and careful management of station flow. At Pravega IISc BLR Cube Open 2026, the organizational team maintained a steady pace from early morning rounds straight through Sunday evening podium ceremonies, ensuring a seamless cubing competition for newcomers and seasoned competitors alike.

The classic Rubik's Cube main event featured 63 entrants vying through two high-stakes rounds. In the final, Kundan Shet secured top honours with a winning average of 7.52 seconds, backed by a tournament-best single solve of 5.11 seconds. Shet outpaced Dhruv Thirumalairajan, who finished second with an 8.23 average, and Mohith B, who earned third place with an 8.34 average. The premier 3x3 results confirmed Shet as a dominant presence throughout the weekend.

Kundan Shet carried that same precision into the 3x3x3 One-Handed contest, completing a double championship by winning the event with an average of 12.86 seconds and a best single of 11.05. Thirumalairajan secured the silver step on that podium with a 14.37 average, while Shubham Dubey took third place at 15.01 seconds. In the fast-paced 2x2x2 Cube division, Mohith B claimed gold with a final average of 2.17 seconds and a best single of 1.82 across a field of 56 entrants.

The large puzzle events demonstrated remarkable consistency, led entirely by Dhruv Thirumalairajan. In the 4x4x4 Cube, Thirumalairajan posted a 26.19 winning average, followed by Hitesh Kumar Bhuwalka in second at 28.91 and Akshaansh Chilakapati in third at 30.52. The 5x5x5 Cube saw Thirumalairajan win with a 46.37 average, as Bhuwalka (51.49) and Chilakapati (1:01.33) again claimed silver and bronze. The identical podium order repeated in the 6x6x6 Cube, where Thirumalairajan won in 1:25.88, and in the 7x7x7 Cube, which he took with a 2:10.62 average.

Sarakam Paardhiv cut his 5x5x5 Cube best down by 58.6 percent to 1:37.63, while also logging a 38.21 in 3x3x3 One-Handed and tackling his first official 6x6x6 Cube attempt at 5:59.55. Sanjay Ragavendra Kumaresan shaved 29.7 percent off his 4x4x4 Cube mark to record 43.48, dropped his 5x5x5 Cube best to 2:39.28, and entered Clock for the first time with a 26.67 mark. Zion Zimmy trimmed his 2x2x2 Cube best by 32.5 percent down to 1.79, dropped his Pyraminx time by 21.7 percent to 6.16, and completed his first official blindfolded solve in 5:43.61. Kaushal Giriyappa Pujar achieved a 19.8 percent improvement in the main event with a 24.39 single, lowered his 2x2x2 Cube mark to 5.77, and recorded his first official Clock solve at 16.12.

Expanding into diverse categories proved equally rewarding for other competitors throughout the weekend. Aditya Kumar Das earned a 6th place finish in 3x3x3 Blindfolded, lowered his blindfolded best by 17.4 percent to 54.26, trimmed his Pyraminx single to 12.46, and posted a first-time Megaminx attempt of 4:22.96. Vivaan S Arya entered 10 different disciplines, achieving a weekend-best 14th place finish in 6x6x6 Cube while making debut attempts in Megaminx (2:50.71), 6x6x6 Cube (4:10.64), and 7x7x7 Cube (8:40.44). Sriprahladh Anisetty tackled 8 events, recording his best finish of 19th in Megaminx alongside maiden attempts in 5x5x5 Cube (2:28.45), Megaminx (3:15.13), and Clock (16.10). Mohideen Asif took on 6 events, securing 12th in 3x3x3 Blindfolded while posting first-ever official attempts in 3x3x3 One-Handed (47.40), 2x2x2 Cube (7.43), and Clock (45.46).

Speciality formats delivered thrilling conclusions across the remainder of the schedule. Nirmal Reddy captured the Pyraminx title with an average of 3.59 seconds, outpacing Mohith B (4.59) and Anshul Badami Rao (4.63). In the Clock event, Sahas Darsh Miglani topped the table with a 5.32 average. Aadhiran Thangarathan secured victory in Megaminx, averaging 54.55 seconds. In the 3x3x3 Blindfolded discipline, Dhruv Ambastha took the win with a blistering single solve of 17.14 seconds, finishing ahead of Hamza Zaidi at 32.32 seconds and Sukesh Kumar at 53.49 seconds.

भारतीय विज्ञान संस्थान के मंच पर 3x3x3 ब्लाइंडफोल्डेड स्पर्धा में ध्रुव अम्बास्था ने 17.14 सेकंड का शानदार एकल समय दर्ज कर प्रतियोगिता का सबसे चौंकाने वाला परिणाम हासिल किया। इसके साथ ही 17 और 18 जनवरी 2026 को आयोजित Pravega IISc BLR Cube Open 2026 ने स्पीडक्यूबिंग प्रेमियों को विभिन्न प्रकार की पहेलियों का एक विस्तृत और रोमांचक मंच प्रदान किया। बेंगलुरु, कर्नाटक, भारत में संपन्न हुए इस दो दिवसीय आयोजन में कुल 71 प्रतिभागियों ने 11 अलग-अलग स्पर्धाओं में 18 राउंड्स के दौरान अपनी दिमागी फुर्ती और उंगलियों की गति का जबर्दस्त प्रदर्शन किया।

मुख्य 3x3x3 क्यूब स्पर्धा में 63 प्रतिभागियों के बीच जोरदार मुकाबला देखने को मिला, जहाँ कुंदन शेत ने 7.52 सेकंड के औसत और 5.11 सेकंड के सर्वश्रेष्ठ एकल समय के साथ स्वर्ण पदक जीता। फाइनल में ध्रुव थिरुमलैराजन 8.23 सेकंड के औसत के साथ दूसरे स्थान पर रहे, जबकि मोहित बी (ಮೋಹಿತ್ ಬಿ) ने 8.34 सेकंड के साथ तीसरा स्थान हासिल किया। इस रूबिक्स क्यूब प्रतियोगिता में शीर्ष स्तर के स्पीडक्यूबर्स के बीच बेहद करीबी अंतर देखने को मिला।

कुंदन शेत ने एक हाथ से हल करने वाली 3x3x3 वन-हैंडेड स्पर्धा में भी अपनी महारत साबित की। उन्होंने 12.86 सेकंड के औसत और 11.05 सेकंड के एकल समय के साथ जीत दर्ज कर सप्ताहांत का अपना दूसरा खिताब जीता। इस स्पर्धा के पोडियम पर ध्रुव थिरुमलैराजन 14.37 सेकंड के साथ दूसरे और शुभम दुबे 15.01 सेकंड के साथ तीसरे स्थान पर रहे। 36 प्रतिभागियों वाली इस स्पर्धा ने तकनीकी नियंत्रण के उच्च स्तर को दर्शाया।

बड़े आकार के क्यूब्स में ध्रुव थिरुमलैराजन का पूरी तरह से दबदबा रहा। उन्होंने 4x4x4 क्यूब में 26.19 सेकंड के औसत और 23.99 सेकंड के एकल समय के साथ पहला स्थान पाया। इसके बाद उन्होंने 5x5x5 क्यूब को 46.37 सेकंड, 6x6x6 क्यूब को 1:25.88 के औसत और 7x7x7 क्यूब को 2:10.62 के औसत के साथ जीतकर चारों बड़ी पहेलियों पर क्लीन स्वीप किया। इन चारों स्पर्धाओं में हितेश कुमार भुवालका दूसरे और अक्षांश चिलकपति तीसरे स्थान पर रहे।

साइड इवेंट्स में भी विविधता का रोमांच भरपूर रहा, जहाँ मोहित बी (ಮೋಹಿತ್ ಬಿ) ने 2x2x2 क्यूब में 2.17 सेकंड के औसत और 1.82 सेकंड के एकल के साथ जीत हासिल की। पिरामिंक्स में निर्मल रेड्डी 3.59 सेकंड के औसत के साथ शीर्ष पर रहे, जबकि मोहित बी (ಮೋಹಿತ್ ಬಿ) 4.59 सेकंड के साथ दूसरे और अंशुल बदामी राव 4.63 सेकंड के साथ तीसरे रहे। क्लॉक स्पर्धा में सहस दर्श मिगलानी ने 5.32 सेकंड के औसत से बाजी मारी और मेगामिंक्स में आधीरन थंगारथन ने 54.55 सेकंड के औसत और 48.70 सेकंड के सर्वश्रेष्ठ एकल के साथ जीत दर्ज की।

प्रतियोगिता के परिणाम तालिकाओं के पीछे कई प्रेरणादायक व्यक्तिगत उपलब्धियां भी दर्ज हुईं। निथिलन एस ने 5 स्पर्धाओं में भाग लेते हुए 4x4x4 क्यूब में 45.48 सेकंड का व्यक्तिगत सर्वश्रेष्ठ दर्ज किया जो उनके पिछले समय से 27.2 प्रतिशत तेज था, साथ ही वन-हैंडेड में 17.76 सेकंड और 5x5x5 में 1:38.55 के साथ क्रमशः 25.7 और 24.1 प्रतिशत का बड़ा सुधार किया। साकेत शिरहट्टी ने 3x3x3 में 14.16 सेकंड का व्यक्तिगत सर्वश्रेष्ठ बनाया जो 22 प्रतिशत तेज था और 2x2x2 में 7.54 का अपना पहला प्रयास दर्ज किया। अरमान खेतरपाल ने 6 स्पर्धाओं में उतरकर मेगामिंक्स में 1:49.17 का पहला प्रयास दिया और 4x4x4 में 51.34 सेकंड के साथ 15.3 प्रतिशत का सुधार किया। रिशे राघवेंदिरा जी ने 4x4x4 में 1:46.77 का पहला प्रयास किया और 2x2x2 में 5.48 तथा 3x3x3 में 20.53 का नया व्यक्तिगत सर्वश्रेष्ठ बनाया।

कई नए खिलाड़ियों के लिए भी यह सप्ताहांत बेहद खास रहा क्योंकि यह उनकी पहली डब्ल्यूसीए प्रतियोगिता थी। अथियन ए ने अपने पहले ही आधिकारिक मुकाबले में चार स्पर्धाओं में हिस्सा लिया और 2x2x2 में 7.77, पिरामिंक्स में 14.67 तथा 3x3x3 में 24.99 सेकंड के समय दर्ज किए। अंशुमान अग्रवाल ने भी पदार्पण करते हुए चार स्पर्धाओं में दम दिखाया और 4x4x4 में 1:16.08, 2x2x2 में 4.36 तथा वन-हैंडेड में 52.87 सेकंड का समय बनाया। आर्यव वशिष्ठ ने पहली बार उतरकर पिरामिंक्स में 11.70, 2x2x2 में 17.06 और 3x3x3 में 38.56 सेकंड का समय हासिल किया। वहीं मोहम्मद आधील ए ने मेगामिंक्स में 20वां स्थान पाते हुए 3:18.87 का पहला समय दर्ज किया, साथ ही 3x3x3 में 19.86 और 4x4x4 में 1:51.75 का प्रयास दिया।

कुल 33 पोडियम स्थानों के साथ सभी पदक भारतीय प्रतिस्पर्धियों के नाम रहे, जिससे यह आयोजन स्थानीय प्रतिभा की गहराई का प्रमाण बना। 2x2x2 क्यूब स्पर्धा में अथियन ए, सी गगन, आदित्य कुमार दास, रिशे राघवेंदिरा जी, प्रजन साई, निभीष नरुण, वंदित आनंद, किशोर पी चंद्र, आरबी शिवन्यादानु और आर्यव वशिष्ठ ने आधिकारिक समय दर्ज किए। Pravega IISc BLR Cube Open 2026 ने तेज गति, बहुआयामी पहेलियों और व्यक्तिगत सुधारों के एक यादगार सप्ताहांत का सफल समापन किया।
