Community Camaraderie and Big Cube Excellence at Prague NxNxN 2023English

Forty competitors gathered under one roof as Prague NxNxN 2023 got underway on July 29, 2023, turning a single-day schedule into a concentrated celebration of the twisting puzzle scene. Held at ZŠ Průhonice in Průhonice, Czech Republic, the event brought together enthusiasts for 10 rounds across six different disciplines. The venue buzzed with shared scramble tables, casual practice sessions between stages, and the constant hum of camaraderie that defines modern speedcubing. As participants traded tips on solving methods and compared hardware, the stage was set for a memorable day of competition.

The tournament focused purely on layered puzzles, stretching from the compact 2x2x2 Cube all the way to the sprawling 7x7x7 Cube. For many who made the journey to this cubing competition in 2023, the variety provided a comprehensive test of endurance and spatial awareness. The familiar standard Rubik's Cube sat alongside the demanding mechanics of larger cubes, allowing solvers to transition between rapid fingertricks and prolonged analytical sequences. Across the entire program, the supportive atmosphere kept spirits high through every phase.

In the flagship 3x3x3 Cube event, 40 competitors took part across two intense rounds of speed cubing. The final round saw local favourite Max Herink capture victory with a winning average of 8.07 seconds, buoyed by a round-best single solve of 7.84 seconds. Tomáš Nguyen secured second place with an 8.15 average, while Adam Kořínek rounded out the podium in third at 8.66. These standout 3x3 results served as the centerpiece of an energetic afternoon in Průhonice.

Nguyen proved to be a dominant force throughout the gathering, topping the podium in two separate categories. In the 2x2x2 Cube, Nguyen took first place with a 2.01 average, having established a Vietnamese national record single of 1.11 earlier in the contest. Martin Kilbergr claimed the second podium spot with a 2.61 average, and Vojtěch Tomeček finished third at 2.81.
