Fiumefreddo Sweeps Every Category at Ponte Tresamateurs 2025English

The tables were set inside the Sala Multiuso Ponte Tresa as competitors gathered along the lakeside border for an intense day of solving. Speedcubing requires precision, economy of motion, and sharp finger control under pressure, qualities that define classical solve disciplines. With timers waiting and stacks of puzzles aligned, the hall buzzed with anticipation before the first official turn. Every competitor arrived ready to test their routines across a compact schedule of six rounds, representing multiple nations in a focused atmosphere.

A total of 14 competitors took part in Ponte Tresamateurs 2025, bringing international representation from Italy, Switzerland, Spain, India, and Latvia. Held on March 22, 2025, the single-day WCA competition offered an intimate setting where every solve counted heavily toward the final standings. The event schedule tested three distinct categories, demanding rapid adjustments from standard hand positions to specialized turning techniques as participants moved through the rounds.

The 3x3x3 Cube tournament delivered sharp contests across two rounds of play. Riccardo Fiumefreddo of Italy took the top spot on the podium with a winning average of 10.43 seconds, also posting the best single time of the event at 9.73 seconds. Flurin König from Switzerland secured second place with an average of 11.68 seconds, while Spain's Adriano Pallares rounded out the podium in third place with a mark of 12.15 seconds. The 3x3 results demonstrated strong technical execution on the classic Rubik's Cube mechanism.

In the Pyraminx division, Fiumefreddo captured his second victory of the day with a winning average of 4.42 seconds alongside the fastest single solve of 3.70 seconds. Switzerland's König took the runner-up position with a 7.41 average, while Matteo Cibene of Italy claimed third place on the podium with an average of 11.97 seconds across the final round.
