The 3x3x3 Fewest Moves contest drew the largest field of the weekend, with 42 solvers navigating two rounds of methodical problem solving on the standard Rubik's Cube. Takumi Tamura of Japan secured the title with a tournament-winning average of 22.33 moves, built on a stellar best single of 22. Behind Tamura, Jibo Zhao and Qijun Miao tied for the runner-up position, each delivering a 23.33 average across their attempts. The technical discipline produced some of the tightest 3x3 results seen anywhere this spring season.

Blindfolded solving formed the emotional heart of Please Don't DNF Beijing 2026, where competitors had to eliminate visual feedback completely. In 3x3x3 Blindfolded, 33 competitors battled through two rounds of competition. Yifan Wang captured the victory for China, registering a tournament-winning average of 17.26 seconds alongside a blazing best single of 14.53. Zicong Liu finished in second place with an 18.70 average, while Lingxiao Li completed the podium in third place with an average mark of 23.61 seconds.

The big-cube blindfolded events saw Zhe Wang produce a commanding sweep across both single-round disciplines. In 4x4x4 Blindfolded, 21 competitors took to the tables, where Wang claimed the gold medal with a winning single time of 1:53.65. Sora Wenjie Xu took second place in 2:30.07, and Ziyi Xu claimed third place with a 3:51.03 solve. Both Wang and Xu demonstrated exceptional memory retention and execution during a stage of the cubing competition season where big blindfold events are heavily contested.

Zhe Wang repeated that winning form in the 5x5x5 Blindfolded event, which also featured a field of 21 entrants. Wang earned the top step on the podium with a winning single of 5:12.25. The podium mirrored the 4x4x4 event perfectly, as Sora Wenjie Xu earned second place with a time of 7:44.36 and Ziyi Xu secured third place with 8:05.88. The 3x3x3 Multi-Blind event brought 20 competitors together for an exhausting test of endurance and spatial memory. Yifan Cheng took the victory by successfully resolving 20 of 25 attempted cubes in 58:41. Yuheng Wu followed closely in second place with a flawless 12 for 12 effort completed in 57:14. Zicong Liu stepped onto his second podium of the weekend by taking third place with 18 of 25 cubes solved in 57:16, adding to an impressive performance at this WCA competition.

Beyond the podium battles, Please Don't DNF Beijing 2026 produced remarkable breakthroughs from competitors across the field. Guoqiao Wang delivered a 5x5x5 Blindfolded personal best of 15:26.00, improving by 46.2 percent over a prior 28:40.00, while also logging a first ever attempt at 4x4x4 Blindfolded with a 7:16.23 mark to earn a best finish of 7th in 5x5x5 Blindfolded across 2 entered events. Jiaye Cheng took on 3 events and achieved a 4th-place best finish in 5x5x5 Blindfolded with a first ever attempt of 9:08.64, alongside a 3x3x3 Blindfolded personal best of 28.91 that was 35.7 percent faster than a previous 44.99. Linjin Xu contested 3 events, earned an 11th-place best finish in 4x4x4 Blindfolded, and set a 3x3x3 Blindfolded personal best of 1:25.23, an improvement of 32.4 percent over 2:06.01. Yichen Ye entered 1 event, placed 29th in 3x3x3 Fewest Moves, and lowered their personal best to 37 moves, a 26 percent cut from 50.

Other competitors took on entirely new formats for the first time on the official stage. Xiangjie Li took on 3 events, securing a best finish of 5th in 5x5x5 Blindfolded with a first ever attempt of 11:31.00, alongside a first ever attempt at 4x4x4 Blindfolded in 7:06.34 and a first ever attempt at 3x3x3 Multi-Blind with 10 of 13 cubes in 52:56. Zongpu Qiao tackled 4 events, logged an 11th-place best finish in 4x4x4 Blindfolded, and completed a first ever attempt at 3x3x3 Fewest Moves in 33 moves. Haoyu Li entered 1 event, finished 26th in 3x3x3 Fewest Moves, and logged a first ever attempt of 32 moves. Chuhang Ma entered 1 event and completed a first ever attempt at 3x3x3 Fewest Moves with a mark of 61.

Across the final tallies, hosts China collected 14 podium positions, while Japan earned 1 courtesy of Tamura. The two-day gathering highlighted the depth of blindfolded and fewest moves talent currently competing across the region.
