Neves Takes Five Titles as Pyraminx Drama Highlights Partage Summer 2024English

A single hundredth of a second separated gold from silver in the Pyraminx final, delivering the most dramatic finish of the weekend. Jônatas Tavares Andrade secured the victory with a 5.45 average, edging out Emanuel Victor Araújo dos Santos, who finished at 5.46 across five intense solves. Gustavo Dias Dullens completed the tight podium with a 5.88 average. That razor-thin margin in the twisting tetrahedron capped an action-packed weekend of speedcubing in São Gonçalo, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, where 37 competitors gathered on January 20 and 21 to contest 10 events over 19 separate rounds.

The venue at Partage Shopping São Gonçalo hosted Partage Summer 2024, an official WCA competition that brought together solvers from across the region to start the 2024 calendar. Kaique de Oliveira Neves established himself as the dominant force of the tournament, capturing five distinct event victories. Neves set the standard across multiple disciplines, claiming titles in both two-handed and specialty categories, while competitors across all events posted fast times on the tables throughout the two days of competition.

In the classic Rubik's Cube event, 33 competitors battled through three rounds before Neves captured the premier crown. His winning average of 9.25 in the final, accompanied by a weekend-best single of 7.44, proved decisive against a competitive field. Victor Rampinelli Villar de Medeiros secured second place with a 9.73 average, while Gustavo Dias Dullens took third on the podium with a 10.31 mark. The 3x3 results demonstrated strong form at the front of the pack across every round.
