Specialists Sweep Ten Events at Örebro Vinterkubing Side Events 2025English
Twelve competitors gathered in Örebro, Sweden on December 7, 2025, taking on an intense schedule of ten distinct events across fifteen rounds of play. Staged at Kollektivhuset Vildsvinet, Örebro Vinterkubing - Side Events 2025 placed the spotlight directly on non-standard disciplines and memory-intensive formats. Unlike a standard cubing competition centered on the classic 3x3 results, this specialized meet challenged competitors to demonstrate endurance, analytical deduction, and supreme spatial awareness across big cubes, side events, and blindfolded challenges.
Blindfolded solving demands extraordinary memory palace construction and precise tactile execution, and Daniel Wallin delivered a series of commanding performances across the category. In 3x3x3 Multi-Blind, Wallin achieved a flawless 44 out of 44 cubes within a time of 58:32, placing well ahead of Kasper Eriksson who posted 5 out of 5 in 25:27 and Theo Skoog who finished with 7 out of 12 in 47:41. Wallin added another victory in the demanding 5x5x5 Blindfolded single, recording a winning time of 2:58.28 in a two-person field where Gregor Bergman logged a DNF.
Wallin extended his winning form into the single-cube blindfolded category, taking first place in 3x3x3 Blindfolded with a rapid winning single of 31.66 seconds. Helmer Ewert finished as the runner-up with a time of 1:16.53, while Arvid Ahlstrand claimed the third spot on the podium at 1:37.92. The 4x4x4 Blindfolded event proved to be a battle of attrition across the six-person field, where Gregor Bergman was the sole solver to register a successful attempt, taking the title with a mark of 8:16.34 while all five other competitors recorded DNFs.
The big cube roster at Örebro Vinterkubing - Side Events 2025 belonged decisively to Arvid Ahlstrand, who swept all three events on the schedule. Ahlstrand opened his account in the 5x5x5 Cube, producing a winning average of 53.17 seconds alongside a round-best single of 49.57 to top Daniel Wallin at 59.11 and Theo Skoog at 59.26. Ahlstrand maintained that momentum in the 6x6x6 Cube, securing victory with an average of 1:36.14 and a single of 1:31.10, holding off Wallin at 1:54.00 and Dante Videfrost at 1:55.48.
Ahlstrand completed his big-cube trifecta in the 7x7x7 Cube final, registering a first-place average of 2:15.19 and a best single of 2:10.46. Dante Videfrost captured second place with an average of 2:46.66, while Daniel Wallin secured his third podium finish in the large puzzles by taking third with 2:57.10. Across two rounds of play against nine competitors, Ahlstrand demonstrated remarkable consistency and speed cubing efficiency across the largest mechanical puzzles on the official roster.
Away from the top steps of the podium, several participants made substantial strides during the December gathering in Örebro. Ian Videfrost entered five events, marking a career first by attempting the 7x7x7 Cube where he logged a time of 7:18.94, while also cutting his 5x5x5 Cube personal best by 11.1 percent down to 1:18.14 and lowering his Megaminx mark by 10.2 percent to 1:19.68 on his way to fifth place in Square-1. Teodor Bergman took on four disciplines during the weekend, earning a solid fifth-place result in the 5x5x5 Cube.
In the 3x3x3 Fewest Moves discipline, where solvers spend an hour finding the most efficient pathway to resolve a scrambled Rubik's Cube, Helmer Ewert topped the seven-person field with a winning single of 25 moves. Kasper Eriksson secured second place on the podium with a 29-move solution, while Theo Skoog placed third with a mark of 30 moves. Ewert matched his analytical prowess with speed in Square-1, taking that title with an average of 8.48 seconds and a best single of 6.82 seconds across two rounds of competition.
The Megaminx tournament rounded out the lineup at Örebro Vinterkubing - Side Events 2025, drawing ten competitors across two stages of play. Dante Videfrost earned the championship with a winning average of 42.34 seconds and a single of 40.02. Across all ten events and fifteen rounds at Kollektivhuset Vildsvinet, Swedish competitors collected all 32 available podium positions, delivering a dense showcase of technical speedcubing mastery to close out the year.
