Tymon Kolasinski and Luke Garrett Deliver Speedcubing Brilliance in ColumbusEnglish

A blistering 1.30-second winning average on the 2x2x2 Cube by Luke Garrett set an intense standard where the margin for error was practically non-existent. In speedcubing rounds where tiny fractions of a second decide everything, even the smallest pause can ruin an entire podium chase. Garrett held his ground through four high-pressure rounds to capture top honours by a mere hundredth of a second, highlighting a frantic day of competition at the Recreation and Physical Activity Center.

Held on March 23, 2024, Ohio State RPAC Cube Clash 2024 brought together 126 competitors to Columbus, Ohio, USA for 10 rounds of competition across three classic events. The fast-paced WCA competition featured intense matchups on the 3x3x3 Cube, 2x2x2 Cube, and Pyraminx. Solvers from across the speed cubing scene gathered to test their skills and push their personal boundaries in front of an active crowd.

Over the course of 110 competitors battling through four elimination rounds, Garrett recorded the quickest single of the event at 1.02 seconds, proving that absolute consistency under intense time pressure remains paramount.
