Odd Day in Hong Kong 2026

Yang Pin Xiu delivered the standout performance of the day at The Annex at The Mills, capturing the premier 3x3x3 Cube title with a blistering 6.83 winning average and a best single of 4.92. The high-tempo confrontation capped off an action-packed schedule at Odd Day in Hong Kong 2026, held on April 26, 2026, in Hong Kong, Hong Kong. In contrast to quiet, contemplative pen-and-paper disciplines like Fewest Moves where competitors map solutions on paper over a full sixty minutes, this tournament celebrated sheer mechanical velocity across five diverse events.

The one-day WCA competition brought together 97 competitors across 12 fast-paced rounds of play, putting dexterity and split-second pattern recognition to the ultimate test. While traditional speedcubing often draws fans toward the sheer precision of solitary problem-solving, this meeting was defined by the rapid clatter of plastic. From the multi-layered depth of big cubes to the unique mechanics of specialty puzzles, the venue stayed electrified as athletes pushed their limits across the official table setups.

The flagship Rubik's Cube category featured a massive field of 93 contenders battling through three rigorous stages. Behind Yang Pin Xiu, Lee Ming Kit secured second place with a sharp 6.95 average, while Lai Pak Kiu took third on the podium with a 7.37 mark. The 3x3 results also included standout times throughout the preliminary rounds, with Yang recording an earlier 7.48 average and a 5.55 single, while Chan Ho Hin posted an 8.28 average and a 7.66 single.

Big cubes became the personal showcase of Ivan Li Ka Leong, who mounted an exceptional campaign to capture a pair of victories. In the 5x5x5 Cube, Li secured the gold with a winning average of 45.07 and a single of 41.30 across two rounds, besting Andy Mok Man Cheuk with 52.87 and Timothy Kong Wing Sum with 54.73. Li followed that up in the 7x7x7 Cube, claiming first place with a 2:14.47 average and a 2:09.24 single over Mok at 2:20.94 and Fung Hoi Yin at 2:29.44.

Specialty events also witnessed top-tier speed cubing brilliance. Andy Mok Man Cheuk topped the Clock division with a 4.50 winning average and a 3.54 best single across three rounds, narrowly edging Lau Ho Chi at 4.89 and Suen Ming Chi at 4.90. In the Square-1 event, China competitor Zijia Liu commanded the field with a 6.48 average and a 4.87 single over three rounds, finishing ahead of Hong Kong competitor Timothy Kong Wing Sum with 8.17 and Thailand competitor Anukun Supcharoenkun with 9.41.

Away from the top of the podium, several competitors achieved remarkable milestones that highlighted the depth of the field. Madison Ling Chin Yi delivered an astounding Clock performance, registering a personal best of 9.17 that was 49.4 percent faster than their prior best of 18.11. Adrian Chan Hei Chit enjoyed a productive day by taking on Clock for the first time with a 12.71 result and trimming their 3x3x3 Cube personal best by 23.4 percent down to 20.43. Tang Ue Tze tackled four distinct events, securing a 10th-place finish in 3x3x3 Cube while making debut attempts in Clock at 5.38, 5x5x5 Cube at 1:05.46, and 7x7x7 Cube at 4:20.51.

Other athletes embraced new challenges across the schedule with equal distinction. Tse Pui Tat entered three categories, logging debut attempts in Square-1 at 36.04 and Clock at 19.60 while improving their 3x3x3 Cube best by 10.6 percent to 14.49. Kwong Kai Chun took on three events, posting initial attempts in 5x5x5 Cube at 2:16.36 and Clock at 19.19 while cutting their 3x3x3 Cube mark by 6.3 percent to 10.04. Meanwhile, Lucas Liu Rui De stepped up to three disciplines, completing first-ever official attempts in Square-1 at 42.06 and Clock at 12.30.

Across the entire day, the podium standings reflected strong regional participation, with Hong Kong competitors earning 13 podium spots alongside one each for China and Thailand. Odd Day in Hong Kong 2026 successfully highlighted the broad spectrum of speedsolving talent, leaving the cubing competition community with an array of memorable solves as the 2026 season marches forward.
