Aramayo Calle and López Lightning Fast at NUR Cubing Stars SC 2025English
Inside the halls of Universidad Nur, the ambient hum of turning plastic and digital timers signaled an intense day of competition. Fifty-two speedcubers gathered in Santa Cruz, Bolivia on March 22, 2025, ready to test their agility across eight distinct disciplines. The atmosphere remained electric as competitors prepared their puzzles under the tournament lights, all aiming for decisive turns on the official mats. Across thirteen rounds of play, the single-day gathering tested precision, pattern recognition, and nerve.
The centerpiece of the cubing competition delivered sheer pace in the 3x3x3 Cube, where fifty competitors took on three rounds of intense action. Dylan Aramayo Calle captured the premier title with a winning average of 9.05 seconds, posting a best single solve of 8.41 seconds in the process. The classic Rubik's Cube final featured a fiercely contested podium, as Josias Milan Sirpa Pinto claimed second place with an average of 9.55 seconds, just ahead of Fabricio Andrés Yañez Terrazas, who secured third on a 9.64 average.
The 3x3 results capped a weekend of rapid-fire solving, but the 2x2x2 Cube produced the tightest finish of the entire WCA competition. Argentina's Leandro Martín López took the victory with a 2.72 average and an event-best single of 1.75 seconds. The margin at the top was minuscule: Mateo Bernal Jimenez finished in second place with a 2.73 average, edging Samuel Galarce Moscoso, who took third on a 2.77 mark. The three-way battle saw only five hundredths of a second separate first from third.
Josias Milan Sirpa Pinto emerged as the most prolific performer of the gathering, claiming top honors across three separate events. In the 4x4x4 Cube, Sirpa Pinto secured first place with an average of 31.17 seconds, ahead of Samuel Galarce Moscoso at 33.22 and Fabricio Andrés Yañez Terrazas at 34.26. Sirpa Pinto added a victory in 3x3x3 One-Handed with an average of 15.01 seconds, besting Alvaro Javier Viscarra Catacora and Leandro Martín López. A third title followed in Skewb, where Sirpa Pinto recorded an average of 4.36 seconds.
Beyond the speed disciplines, Leandro Martín López displayed immense versatility by claiming the Megaminx title with an average of 25.63 seconds, comfortably ahead of Adrian Ismael Sirpa Pinto and Fabricio Andrés Yañez Terrazas. In the Pyraminx event, Antonio Adorno Suarez paced the field of twenty competitors by logging an average of 3.00 seconds to top Sebastián Morón Mariscal and Samuel Maija Temo. Pablo Ariel Cuellar Rosales rounded out the event champions by winning Clock with a 6.87 average, leading Jhersson Cabezas Luizaga and Morón Mariscal.
