The one-day tournament, hosted on February 3, 2024 at George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia, USA, welcomed 142 competitors across 11 rounds of elite play. Beyond the frantic pace at the top of the standings, the day served as an emphatic showcase of personal growth, with solvers trimming massive margins off their previous career marks.

The premier 3x3x3 Cube contest drew a massive field of 139 competitors through three rigorous rounds. When the final stage concluded, Michael Nielsen secured victory with a crisp 7.15 winning average, having also posted the weekend best single of 5.23. Liam Manwaring captured second place on a 7.72 mark, narrowly edging Zayn Khanani who claimed third with 7.83. The standard of classic Rubik's Cube mastery on display delivered tense 3x3 results across the board.

In the 2x2x2 Cube final, Zayn Khanani captured first place with his 1.20 average, backed by an eye-popping 0.82 single. Michael Nielsen took runner-up honours with a 1.38 average, while Charles Jerome closed out the podium in third place at 1.42. The fast-paced category generated widespread personal milestones and rapid times through both stages of competition, showing how sharp execution can redefine a speed cubing bracket.

The larger puzzles demanded immense discipline, led by Aubrey Trace claiming victory in the 50-person 6x6x6 Cube event with an average of 1:51.43 and a tournament-best single of 1:41.22. Hassan Khanani took second place with a 1:59.63 average, followed by Zayn Khanani in third at 2:12.30. In Megaminx, Declan Wilhelm stood atop a 71-competitor field with a winning average of 44.48 and a quick 40.70 single, as Zayn Khanani finished second in 50.85 and Aubrey Trace took third in 52.48.

Square-1 action saw Hassan Khanani cruise to first place with a dominant 5.80 average, punctuated by a best single of 5.28 among 75 competitors. Benson Kim took second place with 9.67 and Hiro Fukui took third with 9.77. In the memory-intensive 3x3x3 Blindfolded discipline, where solvers reconstruct scrambles entirely without sight, Josh Weimer earned the title with a single time of 21.86, outpacing Liam Chen at 23.83 and Ryan Farish at 24.92.

Away from the podium battles, significant leaps forward defined the character of NoVa Cube Winter 2024. Nolan Ethridge delivered an astonishing breakthrough in the 2x2x2 Cube, recording a personal best of 0.75 to improve on his previous 6.69 standard by 88.8 percent, alongside a Megaminx best of 1:14.52 that was 20 percent faster. Stephen Jiang knocked 61.1 percent off his 2x2x2 Cube personal best to finish in 1.85 while taking his 3x3x3 Cube mark to 9.85, a 29.2 percent improvement. James Bowman cut his Square-1 personal best by 53.7 percent down to 26.45, logged a 1:31.30 Megaminx best that was 38.3 percent faster, and registered his first ever attempt at 6x6x6 Cube in 3:30.60. Théodore Corrotte-Salay advanced his 2x2x2 Cube personal best to 11.57 for a 56.5 percent drop and chopped 36.7 percent off his 3x3x3 Cube record with a 39.76.

New event debuts brought further depth to the floor at this cubing competition. Aidan Bae tackled five separate events, posting a sixth-place finish in 3x3x3 Cube along with debut marks in 6x6x6 Cube at 5:49.91, Square-1 at 9.58, and 2x2x2 Cube at 1.67. Danny Liu took tenth in Square-1 behind a personal best of 10.11 that trimmed his record by 27.3 percent, recorded his first ever attempt at Megaminx in 2:35.24, and lowered his 6x6x6 Cube mark to 2:41.21. Noam Corrotte-Salay took on five events, achieving a best finish of 41st in 6x6x6 Cube with a debut time of 5:37.41 alongside first-time results in Megaminx at 2:34.89 and Square-1 at 1:33.89. Anthony Semak completed all six offered categories, securing 12th in 3x3x3 Blindfolded with an opening time of 7:34.11 while registering first attempts in Megaminx at 1:51.37 and 6x6x6 Cube at 4:35.43.

The 2024 gathering in Northern Virginia demonstrated the sheer ambition that drives competitors at every tier of the standings.
