Hosted at the Eagan Community Center in Eagan, Minnesota, USA, the gathering featured everything from standard twisty puzzles to specialized blindfolded disciplines, demanding versatility and stamina from every entrant in attendance.

The premier 3x3x3 Cube event drew the largest field of the weekend, with 88 competitors lining up across three stages of competition. Nathan Rahn captured the title with a winning average of 8.15 seconds in the final round, narrowly edging out Kaius Young who posted an 8.18 average. Nathan Phillips finished right behind in third place at 8.23 seconds, making for one of the closest podium battles on the schedule. Nathan Rahn also recorded the fastest single time in the event at 7.03 seconds during the weekend.

Fans following the 3x3 results also witnessed a dominant multi-event showing from Carter Kucala, who claimed first place across four separate disciplines. Carter Kucala secured the 2x2x2 Cube title with a 1.70 winning average and added a Skewb victory with an average of 2.21 seconds. Moving to the memory events, he triumphed in 4x4x4 Blindfolded with a best single mark of 2:38.10 and mastered 3x3x3 Multi-Blind by solving 32 out of 33 cubes in 59:01, showcasing extraordinary focus across completely different formats.

Blindfolded solving requires memorisation, spatial planning, and steady execution under strict time limits, and the classic blind discipline proved just as thrilling. Andy Wong took the top spot in 3x3x3 Blindfolded with a winning single time of 22.87 seconds, holding off Carter Kucala who finished second in 23.29 seconds. Kaius Young secured third place on the podium with a single solve of 1:13.50, completing a challenging event that tested 21 entrants across three demanding rounds.

The larger puzzles and non-twisty mechanisms expanded the technical variety of North Star Cubing Challenge MN 2025 even further. Kaius Young claimed victory in the 4x4x4 Cube with a 27.15 average, while Nathan Phillips won the 5x5x5 Cube event with a mark of 50.64. In the Clock event, Tyler Johnson finished first with an average of 4.05 seconds, ahead of Ivan ThanhDanh Duong at 4.56. Tyler Robinson took top honours in Megaminx averaging 37.42, and Joseph Ong secured the Square-1 victory with an average of 7.89 seconds.

Beyond the podium battles, several competitors achieved remarkable milestones and tackled entirely new disciplines. Bridger Graf lowered their Skewb personal best to 5.56 seconds, an improvement of 60.4 percent compared to their previous 14.03 mark, while also taking on their first ever official attempt at Square-1 with a 34.51. Ezekiel Jennings dropped their Square-1 best by 49.7 percent down to 34.27 seconds and entered seven different disciplines. Lucian Yantes improved their Square-1 single by 43.2 percent to 21.85 and registered a Clock personal best of 4.89 seconds. Tucker Hanson achieved personal bests in three events, including a 38.5 percent drop in Skewb down to 4.29 seconds.

Fresh challenges defined the weekend for many other participants seeking new ground on the tournament floor. Kieran Gallagher-Smeby entered eight events and logged first-ever attempts at Megaminx in 3:03.85, Square-1 in 1:16.87, and Clock in 20.50. Abigail Peters also competed in eight events, posting inaugural marks in Square-1 at 43.03, 5x5x5 Cube at 2:38.95, and Clock at 16.11. Matthew Sanders recorded a first-ever Megaminx result of 1:38.98, while Joza Tlusty reached fifth place in 4x4x4 Blindfolded and improved their 4x4x4 Cube mark by 29 percent to 58.06 seconds.

Every division across this WCA competition demonstrated the depth of talent present throughout the region.
