Ankit A Sweeps Four Events at Nalsar Cube Open B 2025 in HyderabadEnglish

Ankit A achieved an absolute sweep of the podium summit at Nalsar Cube Open B 2025, taking first place across all four featured disciplines in a single concentrated day of solving. Hosted at the NALSAR University of Law in Hyderabad, Telangana, India on April 5, 2025, the tournament brought together 16 competitors who shared tables, techniques, and mutual encouragement. While Ankit led the scoreboards from morning to afternoon, the atmosphere around the solving stations reflected the warm, collaborative culture that defines local speedcubing.

The 2025 gathering highlighted how tightly knit a cubing competition can be when staged within a focused single-day schedule. Across four events and four rounds, participants spent their downtime comparing cube setups, walking newer solvers through timing protocol, and cheering each other through tight solves. The community energy across Hyderabad was evident as competitors took on both traditional twisty puzzles and alternate events with equal enthusiasm, turning every round into a shared milestone.

In the flagship 3x3x3 Cube, Ankit set the pace with a winning average of 12.68 seconds and posted the fastest single time of the round at 10.94 seconds. The 3x3 results solidified his position atop a 16-person field in the classic Rubik's Cube category. Srivishnu Paida secured the second step on the podium with a solid 13.56 average, while Someshwar Thatipally locked in third place with a 14.51 average, making for an all-India podium celebration.

Short-format solving continued in the 2x2x2 Cube, where 10 participants contested a rapid round of solves. Ankit topped the rankings once again, logging an average of 3.17 seconds and a best single solve of 2.95 seconds. Abhilash Kasina followed closely behind to capture second place with a 3.88 average, while Aksha Shrivastav took the third podium spot with an average of 4.73 seconds, rounding out another tightly contested bracket.

Beyond the standard cubes, the side events brought their own distinct rhythms to the venue floor. In Pyraminx, Ankit claimed the win with a 4.37 average, punctuated by a sharp 1.70 single. Abhilash Kasina picked up another silver placement with a 4.66 mark, followed by Aksha Shrivastav in third at 8.45. The Clock event closed out the program with six solvers, where Ankit completed his clean sweep by averaging 6.15 seconds, ahead of Kasina in second at 8.88 and Tashvin Jayanth Sappa in third at 12.09.

Away from the top of the podium, significant progress unfolded throughout the roster as solvers pushed their personal limits on the official timer. Pranav Tangalapally took on four events and logged his first ever attempt at Clock with a time of 26.58 seconds, alongside massive personal bests: an 11.96 in Pyraminx that was 22.1 percent faster than before, and a 10.04 in 2x2x2 Cube that cut his previous mark by 53.6 percent on the way to a best finish of sixth in Clock. Shiven G entered three events and delivered major improvements across the board, setting a Pyraminx personal best of 15.50 seconds that was 33 percent faster, dropping his 3x3x3 Cube personal best to 1:35.33 by 9.2 percent, trimming his 2x2x2 Cube single to 18.20, and earning a best finish of eighth in Pyraminx.

The day also welcomed new milestones for emerging competitors participating in the WCA competition environment. Sidharth Prakash Ambady contested the 3x3x3 Cube to secure a best finish of 10th place overall. Meanwhile, M Nihaar marked his first WCA competition by entering two events, delivering a first ever attempt at 2x2x2 Cube of 6.95 seconds and a first ever attempt at 3x3x3 Cube of 22.89 seconds, which propelled him to a best finish of seventh in the main event. Saketh Thatipally also made his tournament debut, logging a first ever attempt at 3x3x3 Cube of 1:11.05 and a first ever attempt at 2x2x2 Cube of 52.46 seconds to finish ninth.

As the day wrapped up, the gathering demonstrated the enduring appeal of regional speed cubing, where peer support matters just as much as final rankings. Solvers packed up their gear having traded solve tips, celebrated breakthrough personal records, and shared four spirited rounds of competition under one roof. Nalsar Cube Open B 2025 concluded as a memorable showcase of individual mastery and collective enthusiasm across Hyderabad.
