The tournament, held across September 6 and September 7, 2025, brought 40 competitors together in Mysore, Karnataka, India for 15 rounds of high-pressure action. With multiple rounds narrowing the fields down to tight final tables, Mohith dominated the multi-phase formats from start to finish, setting a winning standard across both short sprint events and complex multi-layered puzzles.

The format of the speedcubing weekend challenged solvers through successive stages, demanding consistent averages over five solves to advance. In the premier Rubik's Cube category, 39 competitors battled through two rounds to secure a spot in the finals. Mohith B seized the championship with a 7.74 winning average and a best single of 6.76. Raghav Vishwanath secured second place with an average of 10.77, while Anshuman Singh locked down third place with a 10.81 mark, rounding out the official 3x3 results under the watchful scrutiny of the tournament judges.

Across the shorter rotation disciplines, the two-round format tested nerve and raw turning speed. In the 2x2x2 Cube, 28 competitors lined up before Mohith B claimed gold with a 2.52 average, backed by a quick 1.96 single. Raghav Vishwanath took the second step on the podium with a 3.57 average, and Krishanth Thangarathan took third with 3.85. Mohith repeated this success in Pyraminx, outpacing 29 competitors across two rounds to secure the title with a 4.22 average, while Krishanth Thangarathan finished second at 4.89 and Pranay earned third at 4.90.

Bigger cubes and specialty disciplines brought rigorous progression requirements across the schedule. The 4x4x4 Cube competition featured 17 competitors across two rounds, where Mohith B recorded a winning average of 30.14 and a single of 25.54. Aadhiran Thangarathan finished runner-up with 36.52, ahead of Raghav Vishwanath in 38.45. In 3x3x3 One-Handed, Mohith mastered the single-handed style over two rounds, winning with a 12.61 average. Vivek Prasad Mada took second place with a 21.71 average, and Akula Pavan Kumar finished third with 22.44.

The weekend also featured standalone formats that tested distinct problem-solving methods. Megaminx ran as a single direct round among 12 entrants, giving competitors no second chances to adjust their times. Mohith B won the event with a 48.92 average, followed by Akula Sai Kumar at 1:06.54 and Aadhiran Thangarathan at 1:11.07. Krishanth Thangarathan broke Mohith's streak in the Clock event, navigating two rounds among 13 competitors to take first place with a 7.14 average, as Raghav Vishwanath registered 8.82 and Aadhiran Thangarathan posted 9.01.

In the 3x3x3 Blindfolded discipline, solving without sight required precise memorisation and flawless execution under intense format rules. Over two rounds featuring 11 competitors, Anirudh Narasimhan took first place with a best single solve of 35.81 seconds. Vivek Prasad Mada claimed the second podium spot with a 1:02.62 solve, while Aaron S. Shampur earned third place with a 1:16.90 time. The blindfolded bracket stood out as one of the most demanding tests of precision at the Mysore Cube Open 2025.

Beyond the championship podiums, the cubing competition showcased tremendous growth from dedicated solvers across the field. Thanvi S V achieved remarkable drops, lowering her 2x2x2 Cube personal best to 6.18, which was 72.8 percent faster than her prior mark, alongside a 70 percent reduction in Pyraminx to 11.31 across three events. Shivansh A. Suvarna entered four events, posting his first ever attempt at 2x2x2 Cube with 4.81, cutting his Pyraminx mark by 57.5 percent to 10.12, and trimming his 3x3x3 mark by 22 percent to 29.12 for a best finish of 12th. Devansh A. Suvarna took on four events, logging his first 2x2x2 Cube solve at 4.40, improving by 43.2 percent in Pyraminx to 8.71, and achieving a 23.29 in 3x3x3 for a 10th-place Pyraminx finish. Yashaskara Kedlaya made immense strides in the classic puzzle, cutting his 3x3x3 time by 45.9 percent down to 1:15.14.

Other competitors took on broad multi-event slates with impressive results. Manav N. Chhabria entered five events and recorded personal bests across the board, dropping his Megaminx mark by 43.2 percent to 1:41.60, his 2x2x2 time by 37.7 percent to 2.78, and his 3x3x3 time by 36.4 percent to 11.51 while finishing 5th in Pyraminx. Vaibhav M Prabhu tackled six events, making his first ever attempt at Megaminx with 1:38.17 to finish 5th, while improving in Pyraminx to 7.24 and 3x3x3 to 11.71. Mohammed Arhaan also completed six events, logging his first 4x4x4 Cube attempt in 2:41.87, improving in 3x3x3 to 23.56, and taking 8th in Clock with a best of 19.70. N Agatha Marshal entered seven events, logging her first Clock attempt at 51.40 while earning personal bests in 3x3x3 at 41.12 and Pyraminx at 14.11.

All 24 podium positions throughout the eight official disciplines went to solvers representing India, demonstrating the depth of speed cubing talent across the region. With eight separate events and 15 competitive rounds concluded, the Mysore Cube Open 2025 delivered a comprehensive showcase of precision, adaptability, and athletic calculation.
