Memory Masters and Mohith B Take Center Stage at MySkool Cube Open BLR Aug 2024English

Inside the halls of MySkool Club in Bengaluru, Karnataka, India, the atmosphere carried a distinct focus on August 3 and 4, 2024. Across the tables, competitors sat motionless in front of covered puzzles, taking long moments to study scrambled pieces before slipping blindfolds over their eyes. Blindfolded solving demands intense memorisation, where solvers map out every turn in their minds before executing algorithms without a single glance. That quiet concentration set the tone for the two-day cubing competition, drawing attention from everyone in the room as solvers trusted pure memory to guide their fingers.

The 3x3x3 Blindfolded event featured 17 competitors across two rounds of play, testing both patience and recall. Zain Behzaad captured the victory by registering a winning single time of 33.10 seconds. In the larger 4x4x4 Blindfolded discipline, five competitors took on the grueling memory challenge over a single round. Vivek Prasad Mada mastered the complex edge and corner pieces, claiming the top spot on the podium with a winning single time of 7:15.51.

Beyond the memory disciplines, the MySkool Cube Open BLR Aug 2024 hosted 69 competitors battling across 11 official events and 21 rounds. Mohith B put together a remarkable individual showing across the weekend, taking the top spot on seven different podiums. In the 3x3x3 Cube, which gathered 67 participants over two rounds, Mohith B earned first place with an 8.24 winning average and a best single of 7.31. Reuben John Kumar finished second with a 9.28 average, while Aarush Vasanadu claimed third place with a 9.98 mark in the final 3x3 results.

Mohith B also swept through several twisty puzzle categories with exceptional consistency throughout the competition. He secured the 2x2x2 Cube title with a 2.35 average, outpacing Rishikesh Kanakatte Muralimohan at 3.15 and Aarush Vasanadu at 3.30. In the 4x4x4 Cube, Mohith B logged a 39.40 winning average ahead of Sujai Shakthivel at 41.01 and Nived Anoop at 41.03.
