Arghy Shravast Sweeps All Eight Events at Muzaffarpur Cube Open 2024English

The retail floors of the P&M Mall hummed with activity as speedcubing tables filled the venue floor on May 26, 2024. Competitors adjusted their mats, tested their tension setups, and inspected scramble patterns under the bright atrium lighting. The gathering brought 26 solvers together in Muzaffarpur, Bihar, India, turning the busy commercial center into a focused arena of rapid hands and spinning puzzle layers. Across 11 rounds of scheduled action, the stage was set for a full day of head-to-head Rubik's Cube racing.

From the opening scrambles to the final podium presentations, the narrative of the Muzaffarpur Cube Open 2024 centered entirely on Arghy Shravast. In a display of complete technical mastery, Shravast entered eight separate disciplines and walked away with the winner title in all eight. His clean sweep spanned traditional twisty puzzles, large cubes, side events, and specialised formats, leaving no individual event title on the table for any other competitor throughout the entire single-day meet.

The main event highlighted his commanding form during the afternoon. In the classic 3x3x3 Cube, Shravast delivered the fastest marks of the weekend, securing first place with an average of 8.90 seconds and registering the best single time of the tournament at 7.09 seconds. Kaarnik Jain claimed second place with a solid average of 10.37 seconds, while Nav Srijan rounded out the podium in third with an average of 12.13 seconds. The 3x3 results confirmed Shravast as the benchmark solver of the gathering.

Shravast maintained his winning momentum across the shorter formats and one-handed solving. In the 2x2x2 Cube final, he took the victory with a 3.46 average, finishing just ahead of Kaarnik Jain at 3.78 and Faiz Arsalan at 5.21. When taking on the 3x3x3 One-Handed event, Shravast logged a decisive winning average of 17.88 seconds, alongside the single best solve of 15.47 seconds. Jain followed in second place with a 21.69 average, and Arsalan took another third-place finish with an average of 26.69 seconds.

The big cube categories at the Muzaffarpur Cube Open 2024 proved equally rewarding for Shravast. In the 4x4x4 Cube, he secured top honors with a 36.55 average, while Jain placed second with 37.63 and Harsh Ranjan Singh finished third at 50.27. Stepping up to the 5x5x5 Cube, Shravast produced a winning average of 1:22.46, leading Jain in second at 1:27.25 and Adarsh Bharti in third at 1:37.61. The side events yielded the same outcome, as Shravast won Megaminx in 51.95, Pyraminx in 5.67, and Skewb in 4.62 seconds.

Away from the top step of the podium, several competitors delivered memorable breakthrough moments that highlighted the depth of the local scene. Sadique Ahmad achieved a massive breakthrough in 3x3x3 One-Handed, recording a personal best single of 25.58 seconds, which was 46.9 percent faster than his previous best of 48.20. Ahmad also took on new challenges by logging his first ever attempts at 4x4x4 Cube with 58.57 and 5x5x5 Cube with 2:31.12, securing a best finish of fifth place in 5x5x5 Cube across his four events. Sheetal Kumari showed great progress across two disciplines, setting a Pyraminx personal best of 8.88 seconds to beat her previous mark by 31.1 percent, alongside a 3x3x3 Cube personal best of 1:00.96 that shaved 14.6 percent off her prior best time.

The spirit of growth was on full display as other solvers expanded their competitive repertoires. As the tables packed down, the local cubing community closed the book on a defining gathering for the 2024 tournament calendar.
