Hosted at Shopping Montserrat in Serra, Espirito Santo, Brazil, the Montserrat Open Serra 2025 brought together 39 competitors across two days from September 27 to September 28, 2025. Across 11 rounds of action in five distinct events, participants tackled puzzles ranging from the classic Rubik's Cube to the rapid Pyraminx. With 15 podium places contested throughout the weekend, Brazilian solvers swept every single medal position on offer across the schedule.

Beyond the premier 3x3 results, Soares put together a dominant individual weekend by collecting three separate event titles. In the 2x2x2 Cube, Soares led a field of 33 competitors to victory with a winning average of 3.58 seconds, alongside a 2.77 single. Daniel Macedo Araujo dos Santos finished in second place with an average of 4.31, while Luiz Henrique Gaspar Peters secured third at 4.45 in the two-round sprint.

The Pyraminx event provided another demonstration of quick turning as Soares captured his third gold of the weekend with a 6.76 average and a best single of 5.68 across two rounds. Victor Farles Cavalcante Alves earned the second spot on the podium with an average of 7.46, followed closely by Luiz Henrique Gaspar Peters, who logged a 7.60 average to take third place among 23 competitors.

Maysa Santos Cozer delivered outstanding performances in the remaining two events on the schedule. In the 3x3x3 One-Handed final, Cozer secured the title with a winning average of 22.11 seconds and a 19.43 single, finishing ahead of Soares in second with 25.27 and Monico in third at 28.49. Cozer doubled her title tally in the 4x4x4 Cube, posting a winning mark of 43.23 and a 38.62 single to top Soares at 51.57 and Peters at 1:02.20 in a competitive 15-person field.

Away from the top steps of the podium, several competitors achieved remarkable milestones across their events. Davi Fonseca Costa entered four events, posting his first ever attempts in both 3x3x3 One-Handed with 56.08 and Pyraminx with 9.11, while cutting his 3x3x3 Cube personal best to 18.59, which was 29.5 percent faster than his prior mark. Victor Lima Laurindo also tackled four disciplines, logging a first ever 3x3x3 One-Handed attempt of 55.93 and slashing his Pyraminx personal best to 12.78, an improvement of 44.7 percent. Viviane Ferreira Hauptli Gessner entered three events and registered her first ever official attempts in the 2x2x2 Cube at 24.99 and Pyraminx at 18.12. Lusiane Gaspar Peters took on four events, setting a 2x2x2 Cube personal best of 4.33 that was 37.5 percent faster than before.

The momentum continued as Marcos Hauptli Gessner contested three events, achieving a best finish of 7th place in Pyraminx with an 8.55 personal best that was 25.8 percent faster, along with personal bests of 9.44 in 2x2x2 Cube and 30.78 in 3x3x3 Cube. Murillo Hachbart Rosa entered two disciplines and dropped his 2x2x2 Cube personal best to 3.13, a 33.1 percent improvement. Ramon Peters Kinaake took on three events, dropping his 3x3x3 Cube best to 20.58, which was 26.6 percent faster, and his 2x2x2 Cube mark to 7.43. Lerisson de Souza Almeida competed across four events, lowering his 3x3x3 Cube best to 14.11 for a 24.2 percent cut and his 4x4x4 Cube mark to 1:46.65.

The Montserrat Open Serra 2025 concluded as an energetic celebration of speed cubing, showcasing depth across multiple age brackets and disciplines. Na modalidade principal, o clássico 3x3x3 Cube, Isaac Rafael Oliveira Soares garantiu o lugar mais alto do pódio após três rodadas intensas contra outros 37 competidores. Ele fechou a média final em 12.31 segundos e ainda registrou a marca de 9.83 segundos como a melhor tentativa única da prova. Paulo Sérgio Amorim Mônico ficou com a segunda colocação com média de 12.74, enquanto Luiz Henrique Gaspar Peters completou o pódio ao cravar 13.15 de média.

No 3x3x3 One-Handed, a resolução com apenas uma das mãos, ela venceu com média de 22.11 e single de 19.43, deixando Isaac Rafael Oliveira Soares em segundo com 25.27 e Paulo Sérgio Amorim Mônico em terceiro com 28.49. No 4x4x4 Cube, Maysa Santos Cozer voltou a triunfar ao registrar média de 43.23 e melhor tempo em 38.62, superando Isaac Rafael Oliveira Soares com 51.57 e Luiz Henrique Gaspar Peters com 1:02.20.

Além das disputas de topo, a competição revelou desempenhos individuais expressivos entre os participantes da chave. Emanuele Trancoso Gonçalves disputou cinco modalidades, alcançou o quarto lugar no 2x2x2 Cube e estabeleceu sua melhor marca pessoal com 2.80 segundos, sendo 39% mais rápida que sua marca anterior de 4.59. Christian Santos da Silva competiu em cinco eventos e obteve o quarto lugar no 4x4x4 Cube, melhorando seu tempo para 53.12, além de baixar 13.1% no 2x2x2 Cube com 2.45 e 10.7% no 3x3x3 One-Handed com 39.96. Rodrigo Araujo do Carmo disputou dois eventos e superou seu recorde pessoal no 2x2x2 Cube com 2.53, um avanço de 31.3% sobre o tempo prévio de 3.68. Marcelo Haüptli Gessner esteve em três provas, anotando 13.05 no 2x2x2 Cube e 1:02.23 no 3x3x3 Cube, marca 11.2% mais veloz que seu antigo registro de 1:10.04.

O fim de semana também marcou a estreia oficial em uma WCA competition para novos atletas que encararam o cronômetro pela primeira vez. Alessandro Peters Kinaake competiu em três modalidades, anotando 16.71 no Pyraminx, 9.11 no 2x2x2 Cube e 24.70 no 3x3x3 Cube. Thiago Pontes de Souza participou de três eventos, alcançando a sexta colocação no 3x3x3 One-Handed com 26.57 em sua primeira tentativa, além de 13.75 no 3x3x3 Cube e 1:08.70 no 4x4x4 Cube. Arthur Almeida Gifoni Pestana realizou suas estreias com 17.52 no Pyraminx, 11.48 no 2x2x2 Cube e 29.30 no 3x3x3 Cube. Arthur Oliveira Leão disputou duas categorias, marcando 9.10 no 2x2x2 Cube e 32.62 no 3x3x3 Cube.

Encerradas as onze rodadas do fim de semana em 2025, o encontro capixaba cumpriu seu papel de movimentar a comunidade e testar o preparo dos cubistas em provas de agilidade e visão espacial. A presença constante de atletas locais nos postos mais altos consolidou o alto nível técnico apresentado ao longo dos dois dias de evento esportivo.
