Organizers, delegates, and dedicated volunteers moved seamlessly between stations, scrambling puzzles, running score sheets, and managing the staging area to ensure all 15 rounds proceeded without a hitch. Their tireless work behind the scenes set the stage for 106 competitors who arrived ready to put their practice to the test across nine distinct disciplines.

This edition of the Mathsoc Delhi Open 2024 served as a prime example of a smoothly operated cubing competition. Running an official WCA competition requires steady hands and immense dedication from the staff, who juggled timing gear and competitor flow across two full days of high-paced action. Thanks to that logistical foundation, speed cubing enthusiasts from across the country had the perfect platform to chase personal milestones and podium spots.

When attention turned to the main stage for 3x3 results, Aryan Chhabra emerged as the standout performer of the weekend. Facing a stacked field of 96 contenders over three rounds of the classic Rubik's Cube, Chhabra secured the victory with a 7.46-second winning average, anchored by a best single of 5.85 seconds. Kunal Oak followed in second place with an average of 7.89 seconds, while Shivam Bansal completed the top three with a solid 9.33-second mark.

Chhabra also asserted dominance in the 4x4x4 Cube, taking first place with a 30.52-second average and a best single of 28.68 seconds, narrowly holding off Kunal Oak, who finished as runner-up in 31.22 seconds ahead of Pratik Khanna at 33.24 seconds. Oak took his own top honor in the 5x5x5 Cube, claiming victory with a 55.31-second average and a best single of 50.89 seconds, leading Chhabra and third-place finisher Abhi Gawande.

Beyond the top steps of the podium, the heartbeat of the competition was defined by personal milestones across the roster. Adrija Dhar tackled eight events, setting a 3x3x3 One-Handed personal best of 1:11.19, which improved on the prior mark by 57.7 percent, alongside a 2x2x2 Cube personal best of 4.47 seconds that was 42.9 percent faster, and logged a first ever attempt at the 5x5x5 Cube of 3:54.55. Vatsal Kumar delivered a 35.17-second personal best in one-handed solving, marking a 37.7 percent improvement, dropped his Skewb mark by 8.5 percent to 11.06 seconds, and logged an initial 4x4x4 Cube attempt of 1:08.31. Vivaan Marwaha posted a 3x3x3 One-Handed personal best of 43.66 seconds, cutting 37.2 percent off his earlier standard, while registering first attempts in Clock at 18.17 seconds and the 5x5x5 Cube at 3:03.77. Proneet Basu shaved 33.3 percent off his Pyraminx best down to 6.55 seconds, adding debut entries in Skewb at 13.73 seconds and 5x5x5 Cube at 2:32.61.

The progress continued with Utkarsh Gupta, who lowered his 3x3x3 Cube personal best by 29.2 percent to 14.48 seconds, while setting debut marks of 1:22.46 in the 4x4x4 Cube and 5.48 seconds in the 2x2x2 Cube. Kian Jaruhar took on five events, improving his 3x3x3 Cube mark by 8.2 percent to 27.95 seconds and recording first-ever attempts in Clock at 19.78 seconds and Skewb at 13.90 seconds. Tanish Jain took on six events, putting up initial marks in Clock at 35.19 seconds, Skewb at 20.54 seconds, and one-handed solving at 1:12.57. Meanwhile, Avyaan Bhaumik logged initial tournament marks across three events, recording 8.17 seconds in the 2x2x2 Cube, 13.80 seconds in Pyraminx, and 33.02 seconds in the 3x3x3 Cube.

Short-format events also generated immense excitement throughout the venue. In the 2x2x2 Cube, Aayan Tanwar captured the title with a 2.43-second average, followed closely by Nevan Jain at 2.70 seconds and Divij Yadav at 2.73 seconds. Yadav found the top of the podium in Skewb, recording a winning average of 3.21 seconds to edge Prisha Aggarwal at 3.39 seconds and Mani Kumar at 3.96 seconds. In Pyraminx, Arsh Pandya led the 57-competitor bracket with a swift 2.62-second average, finishing ahead of Veenayak Bhola and Naman Jethani.

Specialist categories rounded out the intense schedule. Fouzan Zayn took top honors in the 3x3x3 One-Handed final, averaging 12.03 seconds to finish ahead of Chhabra and Oak. In Clock, Neil Gour secured the win with an average of 5.20 seconds and a best single of 4.48 seconds. The mental endurance required in blindfolded solving was on display as Shivam Bansal won the 3x3x3 Blindfolded event with a 26.45-second single, leading Saiyam Jain and Komal Gupta.

As the final timers were packed away, the Mathsoc Delhi Open 2024 stood as a testament to the community spirit and organizational excellence in New Delhi. With Indian competitors taking all 27 podium spots across nine events in 2024, the weekend delivered great speedcubing drama and set a high standard for future tournaments.

106 प्रतियोगियों की मजबूत उपस्थिति के साथ 2024 के स्पीडक्यूबिंग सत्र की शुरुआत नई दिल्ली में बेहद धमाकेदार अंदाज में हुई। 3 और 4 फरवरी 2024 को आयोजित Mathsoc Delhi Open 2024 ने भारतीय क्यूबर्स को नए सत्र की लय पकड़ने का बेहतरीन मंच प्रदान किया। नई दिल्ली के सेमिनार रूम में आयोजित इस प्रतियोगिता में कुल 9 स्पर्धाओं और 15 राउंड्स में जबरदस्त मुकाबला देखने को मिला। साल के शुरुआती दौर में इस स्तर की प्रतिस्पर्धा ने पूरे घरेलू सत्र के लिए एक मजबूत माहौल तैयार कर दिया है।

मुख्य 3x3x3 Cube स्पर्धा में आर्यन छाबड़ा ने 96 प्रतियोगियों के कड़े मुकाबले के बीच पहला स्थान हासिल किया। तीन राउंड तक चले इस रोमांचक मुकाबले में छाबड़ा ने फाइनल में 7.46 सेकंड का औसत और 5.85 सेकंड का सर्वश्रेष्ठ सिंगल दर्ज करके जीत दर्ज की। उनके पीछे कुणाल ओक 7.89 सेकंड के औसत के साथ दूसरे स्थान पर रहे, जबकि शिवम बंसल ने 9.33 सेकंड के औसत के साथ तीसरा स्थान हासिल किया। इस स्पर्धा की गति और स्थिरता ने नए सीजन की शानदार शुरुआत की पुष्टि की।

छोटे क्यूब्स की बात करें तो 2x2x2 Cube स्पर्धा में 74 प्रतिभागियों के बीच जबरदस्त मुकाबला हुआ, जिसमें अयान तंवर ने 2.43 सेकंड के औसत और 1.64 सेकंड के सिंगल के साथ खिताबी जीत दर्ज की। नेवन जैन 2.70 सेकंड के साथ दूसरे और द्विज यादव 2.73 सेकंड के साथ तीसरे स्थान पर रहे। द्विज यादव ने Skewb स्पर्धा में शानदार वापसी करते हुए 3.21 सेकंड के औसत के साथ जीत हासिल की। Skewb में प्रीशा अग्रवाल 3.39 के साथ दूसरे और मणि कुमार 3.96 के साथ तीसरे स्थान पर रहे।

साइड इवेंट्स में भी बेहतरीन प्रदर्शन देखने को मिला। 3x3x3 One-Handed स्पर्धा में फौजान ज़ैन ने 12.03 सेकंड के औसत और 9.43 सेकंड के सर्वश्रेष्ठ सिंगल के साथ पहला स्थान हासिल किया। इसमें आर्यन छाबड़ा 15.16 सेकंड के साथ दूसरे और कुणाल ओक 15.35 सेकंड के साथ तीसरे स्थान पर रहे। Pyraminx स्पर्धा में अर्श पांड्या 2.62 सेकंड के औसत के साथ शीर्ष पर रहे, जबकि वीनायक भोला 3.32 के साथ दूसरे स्थान पर रहे। Clock में नील गौर ने 5.20 सेकंड के औसत के साथ जीत दर्ज की, वहीं 3x3x3 Blindfolded में शिवम बंसल ने 26.45 सेकंड के सिंगल के साथ जीत दर्ज की।

परिणाम तालिका के शीर्ष से परे कई प्रतिभागियों ने व्यक्तिगत स्तर पर शानदार प्रगति दिखाई। जसमन सिंह ने 3x3x3 Cube में 13.30 सेकंड का व्यक्तिगत सर्वश्रेष्ठ समय बनाया, जो उनके पिछले 19.96 के समय से 33.4 प्रतिशत तेज था, साथ ही उन्होंने 2x2x2 Cube में 4.33 और 3x3x3 One-Handed में 25.18 के साथ अपने पहले प्रयास दर्ज किए। आरव डांगी ने 9 स्पर्धाओं में भाग लिया और 3x3x3 Blindfolded में 10:42.00 का पहला आधिकारिक प्रयास किया, साथ ही Clock में 33.96 का नया सर्वश्रेष्ठ समय बनाया जो 26.8 प्रतिशत का सुधार था। आरुष शर्मा ने 5x5x5 Cube में 2:29.65 का पहला प्रयास किया और 4x4x4 Cube में 53.60 सेकंड का समय लेकर 17.6 प्रतिशत का सुधार किया। नील वरमानी ने Clock में 45.03 का पहला प्रयास किया और 2x2x2 Cube में 3.80 सेकंड के साथ 23.1 प्रतिशत का सुधार दर्ज किया।

इस सप्ताहांत कई प्रतियोगियों ने अपने आधिकारिक WCA competition सफर की शुरुआत भी की। सक्षम गुप्ता ने अपनी पहली ही प्रतियोगिता में 6 स्पर्धाओं में हिस्सा लिया और 3x3x3 Blindfolded में 5वां स्थान हासिल किया, साथ ही 3x3x3 Cube में 11.25 और 5x5x5 Cube में 1:34.25 का पहला प्रयास दर्ज किया। आरुष चतुर्वेदी ने अपने करियर की शुरुआत 6 स्पर्धाओं से की, जिसमें 5x5x5 Cube में 33वां स्थान, 3x3x3 One-Handed में 39.26 और 4x4x4 Cube में 1:18.43 का समय शामिल रहा। दृशान सिन्हा रॉय ने Pyraminx में 10.59 और Skewb में 8.36 के साथ शुरुआत की, जबकि आयुष्या विरमानी ने 5 स्पर्धाएं चुनते हुए 3x3x3 Cube में 17.56 और 2x2x2 Cube में 5.30 सेकंड का पहला आधिकारिक समय दर्ज किया।

New Delhi, Delhi, India में समाप्त हुआ यह सप्ताहांत भारतीय स्पीडक्यूबिंग के बढ़ते स्तर का प्रमाण रहा। Mathsoc Delhi Open 2024 में सभी 27 पोडियम स्थान घरेलू खिलाड़ियों के नाम रहे, जिससे इस राष्ट्रीय केंद्र में प्रतिभा की गहराई साफ दिखाई देती है। रूबिक क्यूब की विभिन्न श्रेणियों में स्थापित यह मजबूत प्रदर्शन पूरे सीजन के लिए एक प्रेरणादायक शुरुआत साबित हुआ है।
