The Seminar Room hummed with focused activity as 110 competitors gathered for two full days of high-intensity solving. Stacks of puzzles lined the practice tables, timers clicked rhythmically across the floor, and the buzz of youthful energy set the tone for the weekend. Staged in Delhi, Delhi, India across January 14–15, the gathering brought together rising talent and established contenders alike. With 10 distinct events spread over 16 rounds of competition, the stage was set for a weekend that celebrated rapid improvement alongside elite speedcubing precision.

Kunal Oak delivered a standout showing across multiple formats, highlighted by his victory in the 3x3x3 Cube. Across three rounds featuring 99 competitors, Oak secured the top spot with a decisive winning average of 8.25 seconds, complemented by a sharp single of 7.44. Hargun Singh Tikku followed closely in second place with an 8.46 average, while Aryan Chhabra secured third with 8.59. Oak carried that momentum into the larger puzzles as well, claiming first place in both the 4x4x4 Cube with an average of 30.61 and the 5x5x5 Cube with a 53.59 average.

The weekend also showcased exceptional versatility across different disciplines. In 3x3x3 One-Handed, Aryan Chhabra climbed to the top of the podium with a winning average of 13.77 seconds and a best single of 11.06, edging past Hargun Singh Tikku and Fouzan Zayn. Hargun Singh Tikku found his own triumph on the Megaminx, taking victory with a smooth 44.27 average ahead of Abhi Gawande and Paarth Chhabra. Meanwhile, the shorter formats produced blistering times, with Nevan Jain capturing the 2x2x2 Cube title behind a 3.12 winning average in a tightly contested final against Vedaant Walia and Aryan Chhabra.

The specialty categories highlighted the sheer variety of skill sets present in modern speed cubing. In Pyraminx, Veenayak Bhola took the title with a tournament-best average of 2.44 seconds and a single of 2.22, finishing ahead of Shivam Bansal and Naman Jethani. Arghy Shravast dominated Skewb by posting a winning average of 5.07. In the blindfolded disciplines, Shivam Bansal achieved a remarkable double, winning 3x3x3 Blindfolded with a single solve of 32.32 seconds and securing the 3x3x3 Multi-Blind event by successfully resolving 20 out of 22 puzzles within a time of 37:46.

Behind the headline podiums, the event highlighted the rapid growth of developing competitors stepping up to new challenges. Arnav Sharma registered an enormous leap forward in the classic Rubik's Cube, lowering his 3x3x3 Cube personal best to 13.25 seconds, an improvement of 32.7 percent compared to his previous mark of 19.68, while also recording his first ever official attempts in the 2x2x2 Cube with a 5.38 and Pyraminx with a 9.07. Bhavkaran Singh embraced an ambitious schedule across six events, posting his first ever attempts in the 2x2x2 Cube with a 4.24, the 4x4x4 Cube with a 1:23.86, and 3x3x3 One-Handed with a 41.22, alongside a best finish of 14th place in Megaminx.

That same spirit of exploration fueled other emerging solvers taking on fresh events at Mathsoc Delhi Open 2023. Atharv Arora entered five events, recording his first official tries in Pyraminx at 13.65, 3x3x3 Cube at 21.33, and 5x5x5 Cube at 3:40.80, with a 19th place finish in Megaminx. Shivam Ganjoo tackled six events, logging his first attempts at 3x3x3 One-Handed with 36.21, Skewb with 7.71, and 2x2x2 Cube with 4.04. Vardaan Jain completed first official attempts in 5x5x5 Cube at 2:33.99, 4x4x4 Cube at 1:25.74, and 3x3x3 One-Handed at 1:19.34 across five events. Vishrut Velmurugan also expanded his horizons, logging first attempts in 4x4x4 Cube at 1:31.71, Pyraminx at 14.66, and 2x2x2 Cube at 5.40.

The high volume of personal milestones underscored the importance of every WCA competition as a proving ground for the next generation. All 32 podium places across the weekend were claimed by representatives of India, demonstrating the depth of local talent across every category. From the intense focus of blindfolded execution to the frantic pace of the smaller rotational puzzles, the tournament provided an ideal stage for competitors to measure their progress against high-level standards.

As the final rounds wrapped up at Mathsoc Delhi Open 2023, the full scope of the weekend stood out not just in the 3x3 results, but in the dozens of personal milestones achieved by developing solvers. With a vibrant atmosphere and fierce competition across all 10 events, the Delhi event closed the books on the 2023 weekend, offering a clear glimpse of a fast-improving field ready for future challenges.

दिल्ली के सेमिनार रूम में आयोजित प्रतियोगिता स्थल पर माहौल बेहद रोमांचक था। 14 जनवरी से 15 जनवरी 2023 के दौरान स्पीडक्यूबिंग के माहिर खिलाड़ियों ने अपनी टेबल पर पूरी एकाग्रता के साथ क्यूब्स को हल किया। स्टैकमैट टाइमर की बीप और उंगलियों की तेज गति के बीच खिलाड़ी अपनी पूरी क्षमता का प्रदर्शन कर रहे थे। इस दो दिवसीय कार्यक्रम में कुल 110 प्रतियोगियों ने 10 अलग-अलग स्पर्धाओं के 16 राउंड्स में भाग लिया।

बड़े क्यूब्स की स्पर्धाओं में केवल गति ही नहीं, बल्कि गहरी रणनीति और मानसिक सहनशक्ति की भी कड़ी परीक्षा होती है। 5x5x5 Cube स्पर्धा में Kunal Oak ने अपनी असाधारण क्षमता साबित की। इस स्पर्धा में 36 प्रतियोगियों के बीच मुकाबला था, जहां Kunal Oak ने 53.59 का औसत दर्ज करते हुए शीर्ष स्थान प्राप्त किया। उनका सर्वश्रेष्ठ सिंगल 50.43 रहा। बड़े क्यूब्स पर लंबे समय तक ध्यान केंद्रित रखना हर खिलाड़ी के बस की बात नहीं होती।

Kunal Oak ने केवल बड़े क्यूब्स में ही नहीं, बल्कि अन्य मुख्य स्पर्धाओं में भी अपना दबदबा बनाए रखा। उन्होंने 4x4x4 Cube स्पर्धा में 57 प्रतियोगियों के बीच 30.61 के औसत और 26.19 के सर्वश्रेष्ठ सिंगल के साथ पहला स्थान हासिल किया। इस स्पर्धा में Aryan Chhabra 30.81 के औसत के साथ दूसरे और Hargun Singh Tikku 31.88 के साथ तीसरे स्थान पर रहे। Kunal Oak का यह शानदार प्रदर्शन हर किसी के लिए प्रेरणादायक रहा।

प्रतियोगिता का सबसे प्रतिष्ठित 3x3x3 Cube वर्ग भी Kunal Oak के नाम रहा। 99 प्रतियोगियों और 3 राउंड्स के कड़े मुकाबले के बाद उन्होंने 8.25 का विनिंग औसत और 7.44 का बेस्ट सिंगल निकालकर जीत हासिल की। पोडियम पर Hargun Singh Tikku 8.46 के औसत के साथ दूसरे स्थान पर रहे, जबकि Aryan Chhabra ने 8.59 के औसत के साथ तीसरा स्थान अर्जित किया। रूबिक्स क्यूब के इस क्लासिक फॉर्मेट में मुकाबला बेहद करीबी रहा।

परिणाम तालिका के पीछे कई व्यक्तिगत उपलब्धियों की कहानियां भी दर्ज हुईं। Keerat Singh ने तीन स्पर्धाओं में भाग लिया और पहली बार Pyraminx स्पर्धा में 12.34 का प्रयास दर्ज किया, साथ ही 3x3x3 Cube में 13.35 का नया व्यक्तिगत सर्वश्रेष्ठ हासिल किया जो उनके पिछले समय से 49.4 प्रतिशत तेज था। Mokssh Singh ने पहली बार 2x2x2 Cube में 4.30 का स्कोर बनाया और 3x3x3 Cube में 29.25 के साथ 41.5 प्रतिशत सुधार किया, जबकि Pyraminx में उनका 10.03 का समय 26 प्रतिशत बेहतर रहा। Hemang Luthra ने छह स्पर्धाओं में हिस्सा लेकर 4x4x4 Cube में 47वां स्थान पाया, पहली बार Skewb में 8.16 दर्ज किया और Pyraminx में 7.48 तथा 2x2x2 Cube में 4.38 के नए व्यक्तिगत रिकॉर्ड बनाए।

इसी तरह Kabir Sawhney ने 4x4x4 Cube में अपना पहला प्रयास 52.91 के साथ दर्ज कर 28वां स्थान पाया, 3x3x3 One-Handed में 19.40 के साथ 34.6 प्रतिशत सुधार किया और 3x3x3 Cube में 10.16 का रिकॉर्ड बनाया। Adrija Dhar ने छह स्पर्धाओं में हिस्सा लिया और Megaminx में 21वां स्थान हासिल किया, साथ ही Skewb में 15.92 के साथ 61.2 प्रतिशत और 2x2x2 Cube में 7.83 के साथ 51.8 प्रतिशत का जबरदस्त सुधार दिखाया। Jatin Lal ने पहली बार Skewb में 18.00 का समय दिया, Pyraminx में 12.20 के साथ 30.4 प्रतिशत सुधार किया और 3x3x3 Cube में 32.69 का अपना नया सर्वश्रेष्ठ समय दर्ज किया।

अन्य प्रमुख आयोजनों में Megaminx का मुकाबला 28 प्रतियोगियों के बीच खेला गया, जिसमें Hargun Singh Tikku ने 44.27 के औसत और 40.44 के सर्वश्रेष्ठ सिंगल के साथ पहला स्थान प्राप्त किया। इस स्पर्धा में Abhi Gawande 1:02.96 के साथ दूसरे और Paarth Chhabra 1:07.30 के साथ तीसरे स्थान पर रहे। 3x3x3 One-Handed स्पर्धा में Aryan Chhabra ने 13.77 का विनिंग औसत और 11.06 का सिंगल निकालकर खिताबी जीत दर्ज की, जबकि Hargun Singh Tikku दूसरे और Fouzan Zayn तीसरे स्थान पर रहे।

ब्लाइंडफोल्डेड स्पर्धाओं में Shivam Bansal का प्रदर्शन उल्लेखनीय रहा। उन्होंने 3x3x3 Blindfolded स्पर्धा 32.32 के बेस्ट सिंगल के साथ जीती, जिसमें Nevan Jain दूसरे और Hargun Singh Tikku तीसरे स्थान पर रहे। इसके अलावा 3x3x3 Multi-Blind में Shivam Bansal ने 37:46 में 20/22 क्यूब्स हल कर जीत हासिल की, जबकि Paarth Chhabra ने 39:45 में 4/4 क्यूब्स के साथ दूसरा स्थान प्राप्त किया।

छोटी श्रेणियों में Nevan Jain ने 83 प्रतियोगियों के बीच 2x2x2 Cube स्पर्धा को 3.12 के औसत से जीता। Pyraminx स्पर्धा में 72 प्रतियोगियों के बीच Veenayak Bhola 2.44 के औसत के साथ पहले स्थान पर रहे। Skewb का खिताब Arghy Shravast ने 5.07 के औसत से अपने नाम किया। Mathsoc Delhi Open 2023 में भारतीय खिलाड़ियों का दबदबा रहा और सभी 32 पोडियम स्थान घरेलू खिलाड़ियों ने हासिल किए।

दिल्ली में सम्पन्न हुई यह क्यूबिंग प्रतियोगिता हर दृष्टि से सफल रही। Mathsoc Delhi Open 2023 के जरिए कई खिलाड़ियों ने शानदार प्रदर्शन किया और व्यक्तिगत स्तर पर नए मुकाम छुए। इस WCA competition ने दिल्ली, Delhi, India के स्पीडक्यूबिंग परिदृश्य को नई ऊर्जा प्रदान की और आने वाले सीज़न के लिए प्रतिस्पर्धी माहौल को और मजबूत किया।
