Inside the bustling halls of Centro Cultural Sanchinarro, Lorenzo Escobar Kraskouskaya delivered the decisive performance of the tournament, taking the premier 3x3x3 Cube title with a scorching 7.76 second winning average. The venue provided an energetic stage in Madrid, Spain, where eighty competitors gathered across November 25 and November 26 for an action-packed weekend of speedcubing. Escobar Kraskouskaya stood tall in a deep field of 74 competitors over three intense rounds, sealing victory by holding off a relentless charge from the Netherlands standout Antonie Paterakis, who finished mere fractions behind at 7.85 seconds.

The Centro Cultural Sanchinarro served as a vibrant setting for the Madrid Norte Open 2023, accommodating 21 total rounds of competition across 10 distinct disciplines. Speed cubing enthusiasts filled the venue to follow the high-stakes action across both classic twisty puzzles and specialized formats. Paterakis established himself as the most prolific podium finisher throughout the competition, taking gold in three separate events. He dominated the 2x2x2 Cube with an exceptional 1.43 average, clinched the 4x4x4 Cube in 30.27 seconds, and secured top honours in Square-1 with an 11.11 average.

In the 3x3x3 One-Handed event, Pavlo Bondar put on a remarkable display of dexterity, capturing the title with an average of 12.02 seconds while besting Paterakis on 12.41 and China competitor Zhedong Wang on 18.66. Bondar doubled his gold tally during the 3x3x3 Blindfolded discipline, solving the puzzle unseen in 51.96 seconds. The blindfolded category requires intense memorisation followed by complete spatial recall, and Bondar execution placed him atop the podium ahead of Paterakis, who took second with 1:30.40, and Spain Jorge Rodón Leiva, who clocked 1:45.98.

Spain competitors enjoyed strong representation at this WCA competition, collecting fourteen podium positions across the board. Aratz Larruzea delivered a winning performance in the Pyraminx final, navigating the tetrahedron puzzle to a 2.97 winning average to top Paterakis at 3.13 and Laura Tarrés Gimeno at 3.35. In the Megaminx, Raúl Martínez Redondo showcased brilliant algorithmic mastery, securing gold with a 38.47 average ahead of Argentina Caro Visentin and Paterakis. Jaime Calzado Gomez prevailed in the Skewb final with a 3.22 average, while Asier Adell Díaz took the Clock crown averaging 6.77.
