Matheus Carvalho Longo Masters One-Handed Solving at Ligerin Goiânia 2025English

Twelve competitors stepped up to test their single-handed dexterity on October 11, 2025, bringing one of the most technically demanding disciplines in speedcubing to the forefront. Solving a puzzle with a single hand demands precise fingertricks, table-sliding stability, and exceptional ergonomics. At Ligerin Goiânia 2025, held at Shopping Gallo in Goiânia, Goiás, Brazil, the 3x3x3 One-Handed event proved to be a showcase of pure execution. Matheus Carvalho Longo demonstrated complete control across two rounds of play, clinching first place with a winning average of 15.46 seconds while also logging a best single solve of 12.87 seconds.

The one-handed contest delivered high tension from start to finish as competitors adjusted their grips under tournament pressure. Matheus Oliveira Martins took the second podium spot with an average of 16.18 seconds, pushing the pace throughout the final round. Luiggi Giovanucci secured third place with an average of 17.51 seconds, completing an all-Brazilian podium. With only a single hand permitted to make turns, managing rotations and maintaining high turn speeds requires immense discipline, and the top three finishers in Goiânia proved how rewarding that refined technique can be.

Beyond the one-handed action, Ligerin Goiânia 2025 brought together 35 competitors across three distinct events and six total rounds of official action. The main Rubik's Cube category featured a field of 33 solvers contending over two rounds for the weekend title. Speed cubing in the traditional two-handed format saw rapid times posted in both the opening round and the final. When the dust settled, Thiago Henrique Silva Lemos claimed the top prize with a winning average of 9.04 seconds, highlighted by a sharp 7.36 best single.

The 3x3 results in the final round were closely contested at the top of the standings. Matheus Oliveira Martins followed his strong one-handed performance by earning second place in the 3x3x3 Cube with an average of 9.38 seconds, having also delivered a single of 6.79 seconds during the competition. Matheus Carvalho Longo rounded out the podium in third place with a 9.62 average, demonstrating exceptional consistency across both the standard and single-handed formats during the cubing competition.

The Pyraminx event added further variety to the schedule at Ligerin Goiânia 2025, drawing 20 competitors across two fast-paced rounds. The tetrahedral puzzle demands rapid inspection planning and lightning-fast fingertip turning. Miguel Meireles Godoi set the benchmark for the field, capturing first place with a crisp winning average of 3.29 seconds alongside an event-best single solve of 2.58 seconds. Matheus Oliveira Martins picked up his third podium finish of the day by taking second place with an average of 3.69 seconds, while Thiago Henrique Silva Lemos finished third with an average of 5.23 seconds.
