Specialists Battle Intense Field at Kyiv Mental Breakdown April 2024English

Inside the Rivvorking space in Kyiv, Ukraine, the atmosphere was defined by quiet concentration and intense focus. Tables were arranged for specialized disciplines that demand pure mental stamina rather than rapid-fire turns. Across April 13 to April 14, competitor stations remained hushed as solvers analyzed scrambles, worked through intricate memorization sequences, and navigated long blindfolded attempts. The venue provided a focused arena where every second of deliberation carried immense weight throughout the two days of competition.

The gathering brought together 11 dedicated specialists, creating a tightly packed roster where reaching a final or securing a top placement required navigating an exceptionally competitive field. At Kyiv Mental Breakdown April 2024, the compact entry list meant that every single round was heavily contested among experienced solvers. With 5 distinct disciplines spanning 6 rounds across the weekend, the pressure remained constant as competitors vied for limited podium spots in one of the most demanding formats on the speedcubing circuit.

The 3x3x3 Blindfolded event featured 10 competitors across two rounds, presenting one of the steepest challenges on the schedule. Volodymyr Solonka delivered the premier single of the weekend, posting a rapid 24.49 to claim first place. Lev Golub earned the runner-up spot on the podium with a single time of 54.65, while Modest Podzolkin took third place with a best effort of 58.50. Solonka also logged a 38.98 single in the preliminary round, standing out in a contest where top 3x3 results demanded absolute precision without sight of the Rubik's Cube.

In the 3x3x3 Fewest Moves discipline, 10 participants worked through 60-minute time limits to craft optimal solutions. Yurii Riabov took the victory with a winning mean of 26.33 moves, highlighted by a single attempt of just 22 moves. Modest Podzolkin claimed second place with a 30.33 mean, while Serhii Mormul rounded out the podium in third with an average of 31.33 moves. The discipline tested methodical efficiency, proving that this WCA competition favored patience and deep algorithmic understanding alongside rapid execution.

Beyond the top podium spots, several competitors achieved remarkable milestones away from the spotlight. Daniel Tsyporin took on 4 separate disciplines over the weekend, highlighted by a fourth-place finish in 3x3x3 Fewest Moves, a successful first ever attempt at 3x3x3 Multi-Blind with 3 points out of 3 cubes in 17:18, and a massive 3x3x3 Blindfolded personal best of 1:41.84, which was 12.9 percent faster than his previous mark of 1:56.90. Anna Postonohova entered 2 events and secured a fourth-place finish in 3x3x3 Blindfolded, logging an average of 56.13 to cap a strong showing.

The endurance test of 3x3x3 Multi-Blind saw 6 competitors attempt multiple puzzles in a single uninterrupted attempt. Volodymyr Solonka captured his second title of the weekend by successfully solving all 13 cubes he attempted in a time of 51:08. Yurii Riabov followed in second place with a flawless 8 out of 8 cubes solved in 52:32. Modest Podzolkin secured third place by solving 8 of 11 cubes within 55:30, demonstrating the grueling focus required to track multiple puzzle layouts in memory.

The large-cube blindfolded events pushed mental endurance even further. In 4x4x4 Blindfolded, 6 competitors took to the tables, where Bohdan Pylypchak secured first place with a winning single time of 3:22.96. Lev Golub took the second step of the podium with a time of 8:15.15, while Modest Podzolkin earned third place by finishing in 8:59.16. Ukrainian solvers swept all 16 awarded podium positions over the course of the two-day cubing competition, showcasing the strength of the national speed cubing community in specialized formats. From the lightning-fast single solves to the deliberate pacing of fewest moves, the tournament highlighted the full spectrum of mental puzzle-solving. As Kyiv Mental Breakdown April 2024 concluded its 2024 edition, the competitors left behind a weekend of remarkable focus, setting the benchmark for blindfolded and efficiency disciplines as the community looks ahead to future meets.

Бездоганний результат 13 з 13 зібраних наосліп головоломок за 51:08 від Володимира Солонки став головною подією насичених вихідних.
