KUET MSE Cube Rush 2025

The competition floor at Khulna University of Engineering & Technology was packed with focused energy on January 3, 2025, as 45 competitors gathered around the timing stations. Long before the final round of the classic cube took center stage, the tables were already occupied by an array of distinct puzzle shapes. Hands moved across geometric mechanisms as timers reset and judges stepped into place. This dynamic atmosphere set the stage for KUET MSE Cube Rush 2025 in Khulna, Bangladesh, delivering a day of intense speedcubing across nine rounds in five varied events.

The niche disciplines provided some of the most compelling battles of the single-day cubing competition, starting with the mechanical complexities of Square-1. The shape-shifting puzzle brought together 10 specialists, where Mahadi Rahman proved untouchable. Rahman claimed the top step of the podium with a winning average of 14.51 seconds, bolstered by a best single of 12.70 seconds. Abid Ibn Ashraf secured second place with a 17.40 average, while Zuhair Raiyan Khan rounded out the top three by finishing third with a mark of 19.37 seconds.

Pyraminx action pushed turning speed to its absolute limits across two fast rounds of competition. Mohammad Didar Ali Afridi took command of the triangular puzzle, clinching victory with an outstanding 3.93-second average and producing the day's fastest single in the event at 2.75 seconds. Zuhair Raiyan Khan earned his second silver of the tournament with a 5.50 average, narrowly edging out Ahmed Rafi who took third place on the podium with an average of 5.64 seconds in a tight contest.

Beyond the specialist puzzles, Md Tafsirul Islam staged a dominant performance across the mainstream rotation at KUET MSE Cube Rush 2025. In the 3x3x3 One-Handed event, Islam separated himself from the 38-person field across two rounds, taking the title with a 13.73 average and an 11.45 single. Asif Afsar took second with 16.53, followed closely by Zuhair Raiyan Khan in third at 16.77. Islam carried that same momentum directly into the 4x4x4 Cube, posting a winning average of 37.41 and a standout 26.92 single to finish ahead of Khan at 38.67 and Hasnine Rashid at 41.83.

The 3x3 results formed the centerpiece of the program, featuring 45 competitors across three rigorous rounds. Islam completed a remarkable sweep by capturing the main 3x3x3 Rubik's Cube crown with a winning average of 7.52 seconds and a best single of 6.90. Rashid took the runner-up spot with an average of 10.03 seconds, while Khan earned another podium finish in third place with 10.23 seconds. The main event was filled with rapid times, as competitors pushed through qualifying cuts to earn places in the final.

Away from the top of the podium, several competitors achieved remarkable milestones across the schedule. Raheel Mostafiz delivered some of the most dramatic progress of the tournament, taking down their personal best in the 4x4x4 Cube to 58.64 seconds, a massive 53 percent drop from 2:04.66, while also slicing their one-handed best by 52.8 percent to 28.54. Ahnaf Abid entered four events and finished eighth in 3x3x3, cutting their 4x4x4 Cube mark by 41.5 percent to 1:13.30 and recording a first ever official attempt at one-handed solving of 28.64 seconds. Ronon Abdullah took on all five events, placing fifth in Square-1 with an initial mark of 21.72 seconds while shaving 38.4 percent off their 4x4x4 Cube personal best to hit 1:08.86. Ahmed Marzuk improved their one-handed personal best by 26.4 percent to 46.94 seconds after making initial attempts in Pyraminx and 4x4x4 Cube.

The weekend also highlighted first-time experiences and broad participation across multiple categories at this WCA competition. Khandaker Raad Shahamat entered five events and improved their Square-1 personal best by 46.5 percent to 42.58 seconds. Ryan Hossain tackled five disciplines, recording a first Square-1 attempt of 35.32 seconds on the way to a seventh-place finish. Rafid Mustaneer Chowdhury made an ambitious start at their first WCA competition by entering all five events, posting first-ever marks of 11.03 in Pyraminx and 1:09.08 in 4x4x4 Cube. Md. Wafid Ali also made a strong debut at their first speed cubing tournament, tackling four events and recording an initial 3x3x3 Cube time of 14.05 seconds along with a 6.32 Pyraminx attempt to place tenth.

Across every bracket and puzzle category, KUET MSE Cube Rush 2025 highlighted both elite consistency and widespread individual progress throughout the Khulna region. From the technical mastery displayed in Square-1 and Pyraminx to the sustained excellence shown across the multi-layered cubes, the tournament brought together Bangladesh speedcubers for a high-tempo start to the 2025 calendar year.
