Big Cubes Test Stamina at Kublördag Västerås V 2024English

Inside Viksängsskolan on November 2, 2024, the focused atmosphere was set by the rhythmic clatter of plastic layers shifting across competition tables. Speedcubing competitors from Sweden and Poland gathered in Västerås, Sweden for a packed single-day schedule featuring fifteen official disciplines. The prolonged whir of larger puzzles turning during long reduction phases signaled an intense day of endurance. Solving massive NxNxN layers without losing focus requires immense physical stamina and mental discipline, turning the big cube schedule into the defining proving ground of the tournament.

The larger puzzles demanded immense endurance across every round at Kublördag Västerås V - 2024. In the 7x7x7 Cube final, Daniel Wallin took top honors with a winning average of 3:04.99, backed by a best single of 2:52.91. Erland Flodman secured second place with an average of 3:20.49, closely followed by Helmer Ewert in third at 3:22.49. Wallin also conquered the 5x5x5 Cube, finishing first with an average of 1:01.10 and a single of 55.22, outpacing Dante Videfrost at 1:03.85 and Dante Tellechea Hultmark at 1:08.27.

The 6x6x6 Cube delivered another gripping demonstration of heavy hardware control. Dante Videfrost captured the victory with a standout average of 1:56.39 and the round best single of 1:45.09. Wallin pushed the pace to earn the runner-up spot with an average of 1:59.98, while Ewert rounded out the podium positions with a 2:04.86 mark. Across all three heavy NxNxN divisions, the grueling demands of piece alignment and high turn counts highlighted the technical depth of the 36 competitors present.

Beyond the grueling large hardware, classic puzzles saw furious speed cubing across multiple rounds. The standard Rubik's Cube featured 35 competitors over three stages, culminating in Wallin claiming the 3x3 results crown with a winning average of 8.06 and a best single of 6.69. Ewert took second place in the 3x3x3 Cube with an 8.98 average, while Emanuel Skålberg earned third with 9.19.
