Inside SocialPack Co-Working Space in Bangkok, Thailand, the tables were alive with the steady click and snap of plastic mechanisms as solvers settled into their stations. Timers glowed ready, judges verified scrambles, and participants readied their fingers for a fast-paced single-day tournament. Across the venue, young up-and-coming talents sat alongside established competitors, sharing practice cubes and warming up for an intense schedule. As the final speedcubing event of the season in the capital, the room carried an energetic atmosphere of focus and determination.
The 2024 gathering, officially named Krungthep Farewell 2024, brought together 27 competitors across 6 diverse events and 13 total rounds. The single-day WCA competition offered a platform for youth development across specialized puzzles, ranging from twisting side-events like Square-1 and Clock to the sheer physical endurance of large cubes and blindfolded disciplines. Solvers aimed to capitalize on every round, pushing their technical limits in a vibrant cubing competition that drew participants from across Thailand, Hong Kong, Myanmar, and Kazakhstan.
