Community Spirit and Stellar Solving at Kota Cube Festival 2025English

Inside the halls of Aklank Public School, the rhythmic clacking of turning plastic filled the air as competitors huddled around practice mats between scheduled heats. Groups shared scramble patterns, compared hardware adjustments, and cheered on fellow participants across twelve busy rounds. The single-day gathering brought together a tight-knit field of nineteen solvers who celebrated every breakthrough across seven distinct events. The lively energy at Kota Cube Festival 2025 highlighted how much the shared social atmosphere shapes a modern cubing competition.

Held on June 8, 2025, the gathering in Kota, Rajasthan, India, provided a welcoming stage for both experienced speedcubers and fresh faces looking to test their skills under official conditions. The single-day schedule moved swiftly from classic three-layered puzzles to specialized side events, giving everyone present ample opportunities to solve and connect. While standard tournament tension was present at the timing stations, the surrounding staging area felt like an ongoing workshop of mutual encouragement.

Aryan Chhabra set the standard across multiple disciplines, securing top honors in the main 3x3x3 Cube event. After three rounds of competition among nineteen entrants, Chhabra delivered a winning average of 7.43 seconds, bolstered by a best single of 6.82 seconds. Fouzan Zayn claimed second place in the 3x3 results with an average of 8.98 seconds, while Ojas Nimaje took third with 10.37 seconds. Chhabra extended his winning form to the 4x4x4 Cube, posting a winning average of 31.74 seconds ahead of Aniket Ahuja and Veenayak Bhola.

The one-handed event produced some of the sharpest technical performances of the day. Fouzan Zayn topped the 3x3x3 One-Handed final with a crisp 11.92-second average and a best single of 10.47 seconds across two rounds of twelve competitors. Aryan Chhabra secured the runner-up spot with an average of 14.91 seconds, and Ojas Nimaje reached the podium again in third place at 16.67 seconds. The event demonstrated the dexterity required to control the Rubik's Cube with a single hand under official time limits.

Turning to the under-the-radar performers whose milestones often go unnoticed on the main podiums, the day was packed with personal breakthroughs. Prakhar Lal made major strides across his seven events, dropping his Pyraminx personal best to 3.25 seconds, which was twenty-nine percent faster than his prior mark, and improving his 3x3x3 Cube best to 9.04 seconds, an improvement of 14.1 percent, alongside a 19.97 single in 3x3x3 One-Handed. Aarav Dangi also took on seven events, slicing his Pyraminx personal best by 27.9 percent down to 2.48 seconds and improving his Megaminx mark by 22.1 percent to 1:34.38, while adding a 57.75 personal best in 4x4x4 Cube. Priyanshu Raj contested four disciplines and lowered his 3x3x3 One-Handed personal best to 41.70 seconds, which was 17.7 percent faster than his previous standard.

Other competitors marked important firsts and substantial personal bests on the day. Shaurya Varadharajan entered seven events, securing a fifth-place finish in Megaminx while recording a personal best of 1:30.94 that was 14.8 percent faster than before, dropping his 4x4x4 Cube mark by 13.7 percent to 49.82 seconds, and posting a 31.69 in his first ever attempt at 3x3x3 One-Handed. Rohit Verma contested three events and finished fifth in 4x4x4 Cube with a personal best single of 44.79 seconds. Veer Satija stepped up for his first WCA competition, taking on five events to earn seventh in Megaminx while recording debut marks of 22.73 in 3x3x3 Cube, 11.38 in Pyraminx, and 2:03.26 in 4x4x4 Cube.

Short-format events brought rapid turnarounds and high excitement. In the 2x2x2 Cube, Divij Yadav earned the victory with an impressive 1.94-second average, followed by Aniket Ahuja at 3.16 seconds and Veenayak Bhola at 3.30 seconds. Yadav doubled his gold tally in Skewb, recording a winning average of 3.66 seconds to finish ahead of Bhola and Ahuja. Both events highlighted how tiny fractions of a second can separate top finishers during intense speedcubing rounds.

The side events closed out with dominant showings on the triangular and dodecahedral puzzles. Veenayak Bhola won the Pyraminx title with an average of 3.34 seconds, outpacing Divij Yadav and Aniket Ahuja. In Megaminx, Srijan Tarey captured first place with an average of 46.93 seconds and a best single of 42.76 seconds, finishing ahead of Aryan Chhabra and Veenayak Bhola. All twenty-one podium positions across the tournament went to competitors representing India.

As the equipment was packed away at Aklank Public School, participants lingered to exchange solve reconstructions and celebrate milestones from the day. Kota Cube Festival 2025 illustrated that the heart of speed cubing lies as much in shared progress and camaraderie as it does in podium standings. Solvers left the venue with fresh personal records, new friendships, and plenty of momentum heading into the remainder of the 2025 competition season.

Kota Cube Festival 2025
